Truly FMS, you are NOT going mad! Welcome to the first week. Take this one moment at a time, and know you are NEVER alone. This does get easier.
Today is my first day back after many attempts. I am using the patch and Zyban, and yet I feel restless this afternoon. Not quite sure what to do with myself. That will come in time.
So for now, just hang on tight and know that this quit is soooo worth it!!!!
Cheers, Jan

Oh my formyson, I've been there and thank you for reminding me why I do not want to repeat that ever again. You did the right thing by coming here. Totally normal. I wanted to literally kill my husband for eating an entire box of cereal when I first quit. Now I re-read my post and laugh about the psycho I was. You just need to refocus on something else. Easier said than done I do know that. Is there something you want to do (other than bite hubby's head off)? I would try anything to find the right thing during that specific crave. Hell week is just that, hell. Dont give in. It does get better even when nicodemon sends a crave your way. You have a lot of support her and just keep talking and we will keep you busy.
Hugs
Kim

Distractions, distractions, and more distractions.
Do something, anything to get your mind on something besides smoking. Go for a walk, call a friend, clean something, I mean really clean something, Breathe - deeply, and just be still in a meditation...
Time to dig out some coping skills and distractions are magical...
When any emotion comes up that's difficult to deal with (anger, frustration) walk and walk some more. Mall waking helps a great deal - walk around the block - move - and the energy will move through you and out!

formyson, hello again.
The first 3 days are crap.
But it only lasts for 72 hours !....it's called nicotine withdrawl.
If you can hang out for another 1.5 days you've got it sorted. after that it's... hamma trime !
who cares if you're grumpy for a couple of days... its only temporary.... my advice - keep busy clean the house a couple of times, if you have to & give it hell !

formyson,
We are here to listen and help! Vent away and know that this is normal and will pass. What are you using for coping mechanisms? Move about, do the dishes, go for a walk. Keep yourself occupied and push that crave away.
Relax before bed and ease into sleep!
Josie
