Ok so I'm on day 4 of being a non-smoker. That in itself is just amazing for me to think about.
So anyways, Wednesday nights is when a bunch of us get together for drinks at a local bar. I was worried about it all day and even thought about not going. But my boyfriend and I decided to go. Those of you who drink, know what it's like. Smoking and drinking go hand in hand. For me I would smoke more when I was drinking.
So I'm proud to say that I didn't smoke. My boyfriend is my biggest supporter. He told me that when I wanted a cig to come and talk to him. I did that about 4 times last night and each time he helped talk me out of it. He talked me through the craving.
So having someone to talk to when you get the craving about the craving works for me.

Oh Golfergirl...good for you and hug your boyfriend. That's wonderful. Get a few of those under your belt and it will get easier to socialize and not smoke....I'm almost a pro at it (LOL), but I always do a self pep talk before going in. This helps too!

Fabulous! He's a keeper. And you did wonderful. You didn't have to reach out, but you did. You used your resources and protected your quit. Day 4 looks good on you, almost as much as 40 will look.

GOOD FOR YOU - Way to go GIRL! I have been wondering what I will do in the situations where we are at a social event or with friends just haning out. Alcohol and tobacco do seem to go hand in hand. I am planning to avoid those situations and have some long quiet, smoke free weekends and nights at home with nearly smoke free hubby of 19 years. But you are proof that it can be done and it didn't hurt a bit did it? You made it and you are alive you should be so proud of yourself.
CONGRATULATIONS!
That is awesome! Good for you. I do know what it's like to drink and smoke, I am staying away from those situations for the time being. I tried last week and it was so hard for me. I know I'm not ready for that yet. Your boyfriend must be a non-smoker. I think that's so great that he was there for you. And you are very strong for resisting. Keep it up!
Karen.
