One long, very long day. Up since 2 a.m. and I'm heading to bed, snuggling up with my wonderful duvet and my book..and it's a given,,my crave bag close by with a tumbler of ice cold water! :)
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend... with lots of fun filled things to keep US all busy and active!

Monica,
The determination to quit MUST be stronger than the desire to smoke. You have that, in spades, and more. You are to be commended for your strength, your wisdom, and your insight. Keep on talking positive to yourself, you have the idea! You are MUCH stronger than any addiction and you will come out on the other side, FREE! And you soooo deserve it! Not smoking will get easier, even if your life does not. The crave will go away whether you smoke or not! Remember when you were smoking all you wanted was to quit? Well, NOW YOU HAVE!!! Congratulations!

Hello Monica - You are doing AMAZING! I still want to learn how to do those animations (although I was referring to your quit not your pictures) You are right, during the beginning, the stress of quitting makes small stressors seem larger. However, as time goes on, we DO have some added benefits...for example, visiting someone in the hospital or waiting in emerg and constantly having to go outside for a smoke break....getting stuck in lines at grocery store, bank....having to stay late at work - all those things get easier because we do not have to worry about feeding our addiction - which reminds me.........oops...it 7:00 p.m. and I forgot to put my patch on - maybe that's a sign that it's time to say good-bye to them too.

You're so right, there Monica.
Smoking does not make the stressors in our life go away. I would say, though, that the extra stress in life can make a quit seem more difficult than usual. You have already done 16 days of your quit, under circumstances that can't have been easy - and for this you have my greatest respect. You deserve a healthy, smoke-free life.
We'll help you get there.

That's it Monica!
Smoking won't change anything. The stress will still be there and so will the feeling of loss for your quit. Learning to deal with stressful life events without cigarettes isn't easy but you can do it! Glad to see your stepping up to tackle this challenge head on.
Let us know if we can help in any way. We are cheering you on!
Danielle
