WHEW!!!! You scared me! :8o:
You know, I STILL have those dreams several times a week! I am doing such ordinary things...talking to a friend, reading a book, driving...and I am smoking!!!! Just can't seem to shake those dreams. :confuse:

I had some really vivid dreams of smoking, couldn't tell if they were real or not until I had been awake for a bit of time. I haven't had one in quite a while now and am happy for that. I don't want to smoke in real life or in my dreams (or should I say nightmares) anymore.
Fondly,
Free

It might be sitting at home reading a newpaper, or taking a walk in the woods, on holiday sitting on the beach, on my way to work.. the place may be different, but the situation is always the same.
The sudden realisation that between my forefinger and second finger I am holding a lit cigarette. My mouth feels dirty and foul.. I must have smoked at least some of it. I feel that I have let myself down, I have let my family down as they have put up with my moodiness since quitting. I think about my quit - over 200 days and now it's time to reset my Meter - to ZERO. I contemplate what I will write to the SSC and how new Quitters might react.
Then, just like the kid who cannot bear being chased by the monster anymore, I wake up, in a hot sweat, scared and relieved at the same time.
I have this dream every couple of weeks and although I know that I won't smoke, it is a regular 'wake up call' which serves as a reminder as to how bad I would feel if I really did 'slip'.
Mr Ed :)

Hello Mr. Ed - have been there and sweated a dream out myself. Thank goodness it was only a dream... whew, not throwing away my fantabulous quit!
A word to Kevin (for his wife)her NOPE can be -- Not One Project Ever - start at least 5 at one time and don't finish any of them. LOL Can you tell my husband is in construction too? Come on over, it's like this Old House, but hey at least we're not smokin over here!!!

Mr. Ed.
I hate those dreams. Fortunately, I have only had a couple myself and they did seem very real.
In my dreams I am smoking again and hiding from everyone (I was a closet smoker). I can no longer talk to my SSC friends nor can I face those close to me. I just hide and feel guilty and the junkie keeps talking to me justifying what I am doing. Scary stuff actually.

Thanks for sharing,
What have other members experienced? Try easing into your sleep Mr.Ed and perhaps you will have a less vivid dream.
We are glad that you are still quit and this was only a dream!
Keep Strong,
Josie
