I am into my second week of quit. This is my second monday. I started today out being in a place (my girlfriend's house) where I would Smoke ALOT. Needless to say, my subconcious was raging to the point, I had to get out of there! Now, my hands our shaking and I feel like day one after a great non craving weekend. Has this happened to you? Remember TonyS, the second week is called "Heck" week for a reason. Your still going to have intense cravings, but you are doing great at removing yourself from the situation and distracting yourself. You will find that you'll have a major crave followed by a lull of no major cravings. You have to continue to be prepared for them, and enjoy the times that your not craving. Make sure you are rewarding yourself. How have you rewarded yourself so far? You definately deserve it! There are good days and there are bad days, and as long as we are prepared with our coping skills and bubble gum or tootsie pops or water or whatever hand to mouth replacement you like, then you will be able to ride out the craves. Remember, the craves go away whether you smoke or not. But if you smoked, the craves would come more often than if you DON'T smoke, so DON'T smoke and the craves will dwindle to nothing more than a thought once in awhile. I believe the long timers when they say that they mostly never think of smoking any more. So hold on tight and let's keep on Kickin Ash! Hey Tony - Sometimes when the craves hit us out of left field they leave us feeling shaky. I thought I was sailing along when a friend's phone call threw me into a major crave. The more I could change things the better (We used to order in - Going out to restaurants became a real treat). I tried to avoid activities, places that I associated with smoking. Maybe you and your girlfriend can spend time out at other places.... It does get better...day by day......Congrats on making it through Day 8 Windy My Milage: My Quit Date: 9/11/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 91 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,838 Amount Saved: $455 Life Gained: Days: 8 Hrs: 17 Mins: 21 Seconds: 46
