awww Sarah, I couldn't feel love for my partner during the worst of it either. I mean you know you still love the person, you just can't feel it. You're right, it was definately the worst of it. I think that's all part of depersonalisation too. I'm so glad to be getting back to normal. Even if, in the future, I do relapse I'll be able to look back on this time period, with the evidence that I've got through it before. :)

Once again this illness suprises me with its range of symptoms that other people have that I too have experienced! I have been afraid to feel things too. Like good things, laughing, even getting excited about something feels like a scary feeling that I have to subdue. I have also been numb and unable to feel much of anything. That was several months ago and that stage is over for me now. I do know how horrible that feels though because it feels like you are not even human, you have no feelings. I could not even feel love for my boyfriend at that time. I think it's part of the depersonalization, which for me, was definetely the very worst part of this illness! The good news is, that stage passed for me, so I hope it will for you too Trac, if I am describing what you're feeling. Good on ya Pond! You give everyone here hope for a better future. Sarah

Thanks Pond, I'm so glad I read your story, you're an inspiration! Trac, I thought I was the only one afraid to feel anything until a few weeks ago! It's terrible. I'm still quite afraid but I do have good moments where I can feel sad or happy, angry or even depressed! Laughter was and still is quite hard for me. Even though I laugh a lot, I'm still not fully enjoying it if that makes sense. But I do have moments where I can 'let go' and feel for the sake of feeling alone. I've still got a way to go yet, but I can tell I'm starting to get stronger in the emotions department. A lot of my getting emotions back I owe to music. I started by just listening to various pieces by various artists and didn't feel a thing. But I kept at it and the music won me back again in the end. Now I'm not afraid to feel in regards to music. Try starting to feel for something. Could be anything, music, pet, tv show anything. Then you can start to apply it to other things. This is what I've done anyhow. Good luck, I know how it feels. (bad choice of words maybe!) Anytime you wanna talk, Trac, I'll listen. :)

I would love to know if you are able to feel again. I mean happy at a wedding or night out, sad at a funeral, or just everyday joy at being alive. It has been so long for me that I don't believe in the light at the end of the tunnel anymore. I fear I will be this way forever. Please tell me you have happy feelings ? ! ?

hi all, just wanted people to know, ive been suffereing with panic/anxiety attacks 4 the last 10 months. im able to live and go out as normal now, enjoy life in different ways. by changing my lifestyle i was able to cope and deal with anxiety once more in the so called normal way. i just wanted people to know with allthe fear, that goes through our brains, unreality, think we are going mad, there is light at the end of the tunnel, if we stay focused and work on ourselves, changing our thought process, relaxed, and continue exposing ourselves to our fears we didnt have before ,we can cope. good luck to all and thank you
