Hi Kat - I was trying to find my posts from the 3 week point because I can remember this being a rough time....unfortunately I can't find them. I just remember hitting a point where I was soooooo tired - I wasn't fighting every day...but I was just tired. I believe that the other members reminded me to reward myself and to be gentle with myself during this time. So please take good care of yourself, get lots of rest, reward yourself daily and plan something really special to reward yourself for making it through this time. Take care and congratulations on 21 days of success! Hi Kat, C'mon now, chin up. Let's get past this. You're doing just fine. Don't be nervous. Just give that little nicomonster a mighty flip and watch him go sailin! He's a nasty lil thing isn't he? With his little tricks and his smug little grimace...He makes me sick! Hang in there, it DOES get better. P.S. You don't have to hold on to that shame. We are not going to judge, as we are just pleased that you got back in here. Blah week. BLAH, BLAH, BLAH. Yep. I remember the three week mark also. Your TIRED of fighting the urges. Feel like you are constantly battling with yourself and that you will NEVER feel comfortable with yourself again. ~~~ If you're going thru hell, keep on moving; Don't stop now, if you're scared don't show it; You might get out 'fore the devil even knows you're there! ~~~ Keep on putting one foot in front of the other...this is just a little runner's cramp...keep on going and it will work itself out! Promise! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 9/8/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 66 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,344 Amount Saved: $528 Life Gained: Days: 6 Hrs: 21 Mins: 6 Seconds: 58

Hi all, I haven't been posting much since I started my quit back up...guess I haven't really gotten over the shame of caving even though it has almost been a month now. well, now that I have hit the three week mark I am having a little rough spot. Up until now it has been smooth sailing and I have been in a surprisingly good mood. I think because I am approaching the point in my last quit which I failed. More deep breathing...breathing. I know that I just have to plow through this rough patch...I will do this. a little nervous. kat My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/23/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 21 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 436 Amount Saved: $105 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 10 Mins: 34 Seconds: 19

HI Kat - This is THIS time, not last time... you're doing great~ Hang in there and stay strong. Get a lot of rest, it's emotionally and physically draining to keep a quit! Be super kind to yourself and celebrate those three weeks. You're making this happen successfully and choosing life! Embrace it and make it your source of being happy. You have lots to be proud of. Kat, Let go of those negative thoughts. Learn from the past. Remember why you gave in and get mad enough not to do it again. That is the wonderful thing about do-overs! You've got yours coming up here. This time you can get it right and continue on with your new smoke free life! Congratulations on 21 days! Don't ever been embarrassed. You are in really good company around here. We've all been there at one time or another. I promse. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/1/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 500 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 10,016 Amount Saved: $1750 Life Gained: Days: 44 Hrs: 3 Mins: 15 Seconds: 13

Hi, Kat. Congratulations on 3 smoke-free weeks. Often people view past the past as a predictor of the future. How many times have you heard someone say "I always ...", or "I can never ...", or "Every time I try .... such and such happens"? It is easy to talk ourselves into patterns; usually patterns of failure are easier than patterns of success. Sometimes I wonder if we are just wired that way. Many will argue that point, but it really is moot. You lost your last quit around the 1 month mark. A lot of quitters go through challenges around that time. I think it's because the excitement of the quit, the newness, has worn off. Now you're tired, emotionally, mentally, physically, and spritually. Just worn out. And Ol' Nic rears his ugly, opportunistic head. Whenever that happens, grab the closest safety line you can and hang on for all you are worth because it does pass. A few days, a week perhaps, but it does pass and you emerge intact. Don't view the point of prior failure as a wall or a rough spot or a danger. It isn't. It is simply a point in time to get beyond. Nothing more, nothing less. If Ol' Nic strikes, then he strikes. The old demon gets weaker every time you whup him, so just whup him one more time. :) You're doing great, Kat. Keep up the good quit. Kat, Congrats on those three weeks! Do you have some rewards set up for your ONE MONTH celebration? I'm thinking that might give you something to look forward to and something to work toward. Then maybe some smaller, follow up rewards for the weeks after. Also, don't forget to review the reasons you quit and I bet you've accomplished at least a few already. No need to dread the coming weeks because it will get easier and easier the more days you rack up. You've made it through the toughest part - TWICE! That should show you how tough you really are. ;) My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/5/2004 Smoke-Free Days: 830 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 16,617 Amount Saved: $3735 Life Gained: Days: 61 Hrs: 12 Mins: 9 Seconds: 3
