Hi Jay,
Since this is under Goal Setting and Exposure Planning. Here are some tips I can offer you. I gave too much into self pity myself and needed somebody to kick me back into the playing field. We are here to give support, and encouragement. It's much easier to lay around, and then dwell on why am I like this? There are something you can work on at home, to start you off, on getting out of the rut. Keep this saying in mind- If you don't start, it's certain you won't arrive.
In the mornings, make yourself make up your bed, take a bath or shower, rather your going somewhere or not. Find things to do around the house. Yeah cleaning isnt all that fun, but it keeps you away from the TV, and laying around. There are plenty of other things. Make yourself walk up and down the street, the more you do, the less of a rut you will find yourself in. Im not talking about going through the whole house in one day, maybe cleaning out a closet one day, one room the next, until its finished. You will feel better about yourself, and get a sense of refreshness. Dont let yourself get into thinking you are what you have. I have panic disorder-but I am NOT the disorder. Deep down Im still myself, and I realized, I was letting myself become the disorder. Please try these things, a bit at a time, you too, you find yourself slowly getting out of the rut, and your self confidence to try the bigger things will come later.
Trish
