Yes! I'm not on any meds and am seeing a Psycologist. My first panic attack was back in May-- 10 days after my miscarriage, so I know what caused my panic attacks. I did take .25 mg a day of Xanax starting out, but discontinued it at the end of July. I've tried Buspar and Zoloft, only 1 pill of each, and hated how they made me feel. So I can only say that for me, I've been recovering without the use of meds and doing so with therapy. My Psycologist has supplied me with many reading tools and audio tapes to help me learn more about panic attacks and how to deal with them. Back in August, I had 2 panic attacks start and was able to stop them with all the skills I've learned. I haven't had one since and don't even worry about if I'll ever have another one (which is a good thing). My therapist also taught me how to meditate. Meditation has been a trememdous help in my recovery. I meditate every day for 1/2 hr and look forward to them. When I first began meditating, I would also do several of what I called mini-meditations to calm myself down when ever it was needed. I use positive affirmations during meditation and also when fearful thoughts would enter my mind. I used to complain that I was tired of having to think all the time with positive affirmations, but it has been well worth it! I don't have the scary thoughts any more! So, with all my rambling, I just want you and everyone else to know that therapy was what has helped me get to where I am and I honestly don't think I could've beat this disorder without it! We all get here on our own and we can beat it...just have to find what caused them in the first place and work on it from there. Stay positive and think healthy thoughts! Cecilia

Has anyone at all been able to successfully treat/manage their panic with SOLELY therapy? I'm on paxil (10mg a day) which works really well for me but i'd rather not use it my whole life, if it can be avoided!
