Tommy,
Walkman is good idea! Also I have found my situation the same, my cable has gone out due to a storm, etc. and there I was with nothing to keep me distracted, no TV, no computer. And I find mental activites to help, reason I use the computer is to play skill games that take my complete concentration, thus keeping those negative thoughts away. So... grab anything you can, the unscramble words books, anything that will make your mind be exercised, this helps me to not only be distracted but, makes me afterwhile mentally exhausted so I can sleep better. Many times I have been physically exhausted, but that brain just keeps me awake, allowing me to feed on the negative thoughts of having an attack, or the " what if " scenarios. So mentally exhausting myself helps too. Ive gone as far as picking up my sons Algebra book, read it and try to work out the problems LOL. Just take as much as you can. And I might had, if you are close to any of these guys, please confide that you have a condition, that might or very well may not flare up, it helps when others know of your situation, they may have a family member with the same thing, etc. But I do understand if you feel, they wont understand, but only if these are perfect strangers that you wont see after this weekend if that is the case.
