I just love that somebody said "Call the doctor's nurse"!! That made my day!
Indeed, definitely write that on the list of issues to bring up at next monthly meeting.
And congrats to both of you! Hubby and I are trying to do it together too!
OH MY... how gross. Your poor husband.
Yet....to think it is the body cleaning out.
Still... I would just call the doctors nurse...and ask to be safe.
ISN'T IT GREAT TO THINK OF THE POSITIVE REASONS AND BENEFITS FROM QUITING???? It makes me sooo glad and it is actually encouraging to hear positives in the posts too.

okay....I have smoked for 20 years...about a pack a day sometimes a little more, sometimes a little less. I am 34 years of age. I was pretty active during my 20's. (now I just try to chase my 5 year old along with all the other mundane chores in life)
I have not had anything come out of my nose or lungs....no cough no nothing since I quit....and I thought I was going to cough a lot since I quit, like cleaning out. So I hope my Celia still work and there is nothing wrong with me?

Hey tryagain,
1st congrats to you and hubby on a great quit you have going!
I'm not a dr or anything, but maybe since he exhaled through his nose for so many years the sinus membranes just kept collecting all the garbage from smoking and then they loosened up to the point where it came pouring out of him? I also agree that he see his dr just to be sure that's all it was.
Pea..I just turned 49 yrs old, smoked for 30 yrs and never had a cough while I smoked and since quitting have never developed a cough (just a clearing of the throat every now and then) and never coughed up anything either. I'm sitting here purposely taking very deep breaths and still no cough. I think we're lucky? Don't know.

Anna has said it all!
My wife is an ex nurse and can cope with most things but not dirty noses they make her physically sick.
She said exactly what you said Anna!!!
