SherryS,
Monica is right. This is your quit. About 7 weeks ago, my mother said that she had gone to the doctor and gotten Chantix and that she was going to quit smoking. I told her how great that was and that I would also try to get to the doctor. I even recruited my sister. We both had to run to the doctor so that we could all stop smoking together. You see I was not ready to quit and my sister had tried several times. However, since my mother is heavy smoker and has been for about 50 something years, we thought we should do this to support her.
Well you have probably guessed that she never quit smoking. She stopped taking the medicine a week after the quit date. But you know, I thank her everytime I talk to her. I am proud to say that my sister and I are going on 5 weeks as non-smokers. It was Mom's idea, but our quit. I did tell her that we know that she will decide to quit soon and we will be there for her. She tells us how proud she is that we have quit. It is our turn to set the example and then be there for our parents.
Good luck, so strong and be proud of your quit.
Julie
