I tried Prozac some years ago after my first attack. It did not help me. I believe it is primarily used for depression, not anxiety. I would speak to your doctor and tell him/her that the nausea is persisting. You may want to try eating more often as well...dont eat more food (weight gain) just eat the same amount of food but in smaller portions and more frequently. This helped me get past the nausea stage of the Effexor.
The Xanax usually helps with the anxiety. If it is not, again please speak to your doctor. Also you may want to try meditation. Go to the book store and look for some "self guided" meditiation tapes to play in the morning and when you retire in the evening. I use headphones because it helps drown out the ambient room noises like the A/C going on and off or some dogs barking next door etc, and enhances my concentration level. I make time to do this every day, no excuses, I do it each morning and evening.
I can also recommend a pair of books that have been very helpful to me. "From panic to power" by Lucinda Bassett is filled with good information on how to deal with this awful sickness. It will require practice and commitment but the methods really do work. Also try "Dont sweat the small stuff (and it's all small stuff)" by Richard Carlson. This book is actually 100 daily lessons on how to deal with stress by putting it in a different perspective. You could read the book through in one sitting and then use it as a daily reference. I keep a copy of it in my desk at work. After I meditate and drive to work the first thing I do is open the book and read a lesson. Sometimes I read one in the afternoon as well.
And dont forget to do the panic program right here on this site. It is very helpful and will teach you many lessons on enhancing your "self talk" which is absolutely the key to overcoming this.

After posting earlier and also reading the latest post, it seems to me with the SSRI's quite a few poeple in here are experiencing what I am which is intensified anxiety, nausea, etc.
Do these symptoms go away or is it time to get off of it?
I started for 14 days on prozac with trambles, nausea and then at the 14th day, had a severe anxiety/panic attack and was increased to 20 mgs and couldnt handle the intense anxiety that kept brewing- kept me in bed for days- back to 10 mgs per night per dr's orders, but dont want to take it again if this isnt going to stop.
On Xanax as well.
Any help would really be appriciated!
