sad but true 5 ciggies if you think about it is nothing compared to some people who smoke 40 a day - i myself was hitting 20 a day - however your system got used to the habit and it will take some time for you to get over it - you will be stressed and hyper - Im craving loads of cafeeine and chocolate side effects of quitting!!

Silly Habbit, You are doing fine. The weirdiest feeling I was having. I was diffently riding the coaster. I am on my seventh day. WAHOO. I feel good. I have some very mild craves. With what I went threw last week, it sort a feels like a cake walk. Not minimizing my quit. However I overcame more than just hell week. Try hell week on crack. Any way your body is changing trying to adjust back to normal. HEALING, it is a good thing. Some nerves in our brain gets messed up by smoking. Even the smallest amount of nic withdrawls can cuase severe migrains. Good news should go away shortly. Please hang in there so worth it. I got you on my bud list please feel free to pop in on me. There are sevaral of us quiting this month. I beleave we can be real motivation for each other. There was something I read yesterday about the facts of what nic actully does. Let me see where that was. Grace

Hang in there SillyHabbit - Like PrincessC suggested, drinking gallons of water may help. It certainly did for me in that first week. Take some time to read the workbook & member's posts about all the symptoms that can manifest - - big variety and everyone's quit is a bit different. That also helped me cope with the physical withdrawel I experienced. Hang in there, you'll get through it. Everything you have described in indeed withdrawls hun. No matter how many you have smoked you will get withdrawls. Its hard to say how long the actual withdrawls will last as everyone is different. My actually withdrawls lasted 2 - 3 days. The rest is in the mind. Beleive you can do it and you WILL. :) Stay strong. Drink lots of ice water, do what ever you have to just dont smoke. It will pass, it WILL pass. Hang in there hun you are doing just fine PrincessC :) x My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/11/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 34 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 685 Amount Saved: $346.8 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 18 Mins: 8 Seconds: 39

SH, the effects of caffeine drinks are quite higher than when you smoked. So if you are taking in caffeine, through coffee, tea or soda, you might cut back and see if that helps. Also make sure that you are eating something every few hours to keep your blood sugar up. Good luck! Silly, This is known as hell week! Your will be feeling many symptoms and craves and it is normal. Challenge those thoughts and use your coping mechanisms to get you through. Take the advice of members and hold it close :) Keep Strong, Josie ____________________ The SSC Support Team.
