Patches

I am kind of worried about the day I need to stop using my nicotine replacement too but if I have to I will continue even past the date if needed or use a different suppliment like gum. At some point I will have to illiminate nicotine but even if I take them for the rest of my life that is safer than smoking, isn't it? Different people have different quits but a 2 or 3 month quit doesn't make much sense, it has to be forever. Does anyone think that each failed quit makes a person a little weaker for the next time because you know you can't do it? I say stay with the patches or whatever your using as long as needed. Phil, I don't think you need to worry to much. I used the 21mg for 2 weeks and then the 14mg for 2 weeks and then just quit wearing them and I really didn't see much of a change. I always took the patch off at night though so maybe that made a difference. Good luck and stay strong! I am still on my 21 mg patches. I am on my last 2 weeks for this one but started the last week on Thursday. How did you fare as you stepped down? In honesty, I am nervous about stepping down. My insurance will not pay for the patches but will pay for the Wellbutrin to help. But I cannot take Wellbutrin. I see strobe lights *insert wide eyes here*. Hi best mate, I have some advice for you which can be helpful. I didn't use patches or anything but my daughter gave me 5 nicotinetabs. I took one a day in the early morning. After 5 days I was a little worried about what would happen if I didn't get any nicotine at all. I was able to buy some more tabs but here they are expensive too so I decided not to buy them. Instead I bought some chewing gum, no nicotinegum but regular. I had no problem what so ever. I told myself that I didn't need nicotine anymore because I didn't want to smoke anyway. If I were you I would just try and see what is going to happen. Maybe it's not going to be bad at all. Who knows. Just give it a try.
