3rd Day Thoughts

for 18 år siden 0 744 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Here's a few thoughts floating through today. 1. Exorcism of the nicodemon! 2. If I chew just one more piece of gum, I'm going to scream! 3. I already chewed on a straw for so long that I started to gag. 4. My legs are sore from pacing so much. 5. Why is my tongue so sore? 6. If I keep taking these deep breaths, I'm going to hyperventilate! 7. I thought these heart palps would finally go away. Well?? They're still here. 8. I THINK I CAN!! I think I can...Uhhh, i hope i can? 9. must I feel so alone in quitting eventhough I have lots of support? 10. My next trip back home to visit my family is going to be fun...NOT! So many smokers! 11. Please God, Don't let my attitude get in the way this time. 12. Where's my energy? I lost it somewhere. 13. I think there is something inside me setting up an explosive devise. Really..His name is "Nic" and he's doing it because I won't answer him when he screams and he's not getting the attention that he wants from me. 14. I can't get anything accomplished and I feel so scatter-brained. 15. OK ANXIETY...Go away! My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/17/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 2 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 20 Amount Saved: $7.5 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 6 Mins: 28 Seconds: 16

Try to spend a little time thinking about something that has nothing to do wiht smoking. For example: If you could have dinner with any 5 people past or present who would it be? Why? What would you talk about? Set a timmer for 30 min (or at least 15) sit in a comfortable chair, in a quiet room, close your eyes and imagine having dinner with them. What would you talk about? What would you serve? Who would sit where. I think as new quitters we get in a kind of rut thinking aobut nothing but what we think we want. Sometimes it helps to give our mind a break for a few minutes...let your mind have some fun :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/17/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 2 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 93 Amount Saved: $14 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 5 Mins: 26 Seconds: 8

Great advise Tina!!! Stormy we are here you can scream and yell all you want, we won't run away. Remember we are your friends not that demon. It takes a real effort to get him out of your mind but our minds are powerful, take control. Change your environment when these really bad tims happen. Get up and go, think of something else, he doesn't deserve your energy....you do. It does get better....really, really it does! Stormy, Thanks for sharing, sorry you're having a rough day. Your tongue is sore because of the chemical changes occuring in your mouth as a result of your quit. If it gets worse, consult your doctor. Try counting when you breath in & out, to three. When you're anxiety gets high, get up and get moving. Take a walk, go shopping, scream, punch a pillow, hit the gym, the pool... No energy? Take a nap, write in a journal, post or take a long bath. Whatever it takes! Hang in there! You are not alone! This will pass! Danielle ____________________________ The SSC Support Team

Stormy... Hell week is fun isn't it? :p You are doing great. One step at a time, five minutes at a time. Don't worry about tomorrow it will take care of itself. Just get through today. Remember how horrible and insane today feels so that you aren't too willing to repeat it again. Hang on tight! You are a great quitter :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/1/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 383 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 7,671 Amount Saved: $1340.5 Life Gained: Days: 33 Hrs: 19 Mins: 18 Seconds: 3

Sounds weird, but I found I had more energy in the beginning if I did some sort of exercise. Go for a walk, go biking, swimming, whatever makes you happy. On the other hand, several members felt the need to sleep all the time during their early quit (I was one of the absolutely, positively couldnt sleep gang). Youll have to do what feels best to you. Pampering during this period is a GOOD thing. Some used bubble baths, massage, yoga, etc. to reward themselves. Itll get better. I PROMISE. Not cravin', never cavin'.
