Smoked out, We understand that quitting is stressful and that life stressors only add to it. As explained to you, this is a stop smoking site and it is to remain focused on this topic. Keep persevering, I can only echo what your fellow quitters have said; there is no good time to quit. You are learning how to cope with stress without cigarettes. This is a learning experience and will need to keep practicing this new skill. What are you doing to cope with the stress? You use to smoke, what have you replace it with now that you've quit? Have you ever thought of keeping a journal? Some members have found this helpful as it gave them a place where they could freely express themselves without reservation. Keep us posted, Danielle _____________________________ The SSC Support Team

Kerin.. don't give up. YOu are not setting yourself up for failure. That is the junkie within talking. Don't let anything stand between you and your quit. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! You can beat this addiction. Get some determination together and hang onto it with every thing you've got! That is what it takes to quit smoking. We do care :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/1/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 391 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 7,830 Amount Saved: $1368.5 Life Gained: Days: 34 Hrs: 12 Mins: 7 Seconds: 33

Kerin, Watching loved ones approach the end of their lives is always difficult. There is no better gift that you can give them then to let them know that you will continue on after they are gone. By quitting smoking now, both you and your husband will be ready to go on with the good changes in your lives after this period is past. There are so many ways to fill that spare time. You might want to try a journal. Include some of your thoughts and feelings about all your life concerns, not just smoking. Some times it is better than a friend to talk to. You deciede, and we will be here to help when your ready. It is never the wrong time to quit, Kerin. Regardless of what's going on in your life, the junkie will be telling you that some other time would be better. Wait until (fill in the blank) and it will be easier. Don't listen to the junkie, Kerin. It lies. Boredom is a big quit killer. Do your best to avoid it. Take up a hobby to stay busy if you need to. Come here and post. Anything to keep your mind occupied. Stay strong and stay focused, Kerin.
