As far as my thoughts on using the patch, I think I am going to hold off. I have went almost a week...and I think I am going to be okay. If I still feel anxious on Monday I am simply going to go to my Dr. and see if I can get some anxiety medication to get me through a week or two of these feelings.
That sounds like a wise decision me. No sense re-introducing the drug you are trying to cleanse yourself from back into your body. Treating the real issue at this point makes much more sense imo. If you are still feeling anxious, something to help you over that hump, would probably prove helpful in moving you forward. It sounds like you are being really progressive in your quit. I was too and it really works. Just keep believing in yourself. You can do it. Pinktexas, Your body may still be withdrawing from nicotine and other chemicals found in cigarettes. This is normal. If you find it is causing a problem for you, call or see your family physician. He/she will be able to provide you a myriad of options as there are many out there. In the meantime, try do something fun or something that gets you up and moving. This may rid you of some anxiety. Feel better and keep us posted. Danielle _______________________ The SSC Support Team

Pink, hang in there we need you here. Quitting and starting is not any fun. Sounds like you day is going okay. Crying is okay and whatever that come down the pike - just don't smoke. I do a lot of self talk, drink water, and walk. Big thing is I come here and read and get lot of wisdom and lots of smiles. Congrats on 5 days. I must say that everyone here is so great to reply to my own little pitty party with such encouraging words. For some reason today feels like a hard day...I am feeling very anxious and panicy (sp???) today. I used to deal with panic attacks and I finally got off my medication for that almost a year ago. I really don't want to go back to that. I just called my friend who is a pharmacist to ask his opinion and he thinks if I don't feel less anxious by tomorrow that I should go buy the lowest dose of the patch. I am just afraid that if I get on the patch that when I need to get off of that then I will feel like this all over again trying to rid my body of this horrible feeling. I am not sure what to do. I guess I am just looking for advice...I really want to do cold turkey...that is what I have been doing. I guess I want to hear from someone that used the patch to aid in the quit, so I can make an educated descision on how to go from here into next week. Thanks to everyone for being sooooooooo great. Have a blessed weekend. I am so proud of myself I must say. All my friends went to a outdoor concert today...a singer that I really like. But I told all of them that I was not ready for it. So I am at home simply cleaning house and hanging out with my little boy. I just have to keeping thinking about how I am doing this quit for our future. As far as my thoughts on using the patch, I think I am going to hold off. I have went almost a week...and I think I am going to be okay. If I still feel anxious on Monday I am simply going to go to my Dr. and see if I can get some anxiety medication to get me through a week or two of these feelings. I just know I will do whatever it takes to stay smoke free this time...I like being a non smoker, and being able to breath every day when I wake up. Thanks again for all the support and listening to me talk about nothing. This has become my outlet and I am very thankful that everyone is here. Okay so I have survived one more day. I must say that the hardest thing about this journey is changing the thinking in my mind. Today was the best day by far. However I did start crying today for no reason at all, and I kinda felt a little silly, but oh well if I have to go through a little time to adjust I am okay with that. Well I am restless so I thought that I would just sit down and write for a bit to clear my mind and just get some frustration out. Anyway thanks for all support that is around here. It is greatly appreciated. I saw a quote today that I wanted to share with everyone. Success is a journey not a destination.... I hope you love it as much as I did...it helps me realize that it is today that matters, and I will get to where I am going soon enough!!! Pink, 5 days is great! Let out that cry and take some you time! Changing your habits will take time, so really work on it :) Use the rewards system and have a goal you can reach, this will make a big difference. For tonight relax and get some well deserved sleep, start fresh in the morning, we will be here! Keep Strong, Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
