Hi cheermom,
Feeling our emotions is a real eye opener when we quit smoking. Nicotine actually numbs your emotions,so when we quit, our emotions seem so much stronger. We got mad, we smoked. We got stressed, we smoked. We were real happy, we smoked. We got excited, we smoked. Smoking was a sick celebration for every emotion in our lives. It is part of the journey, I guess. Depression comes along with the ride too. We have to feel what we are feeling and learn to do it without numbing our emotions with smoking. Your husband will see, through you, that it is possible to live without smoking. If you can't sit with him and watch the sunset for a while so as to protect your quit, so be it. Don't be jealous of what he is doing. He is inhaling poisonous gases into his lungs, harming every organ in his body. Sometimes, every inch of my physical and mental being is crying out for nicotine. We have to learn to let it wave over us. One day we will never feel this way again. I'm with you girl. We can do this.
