for 18 år siden 0 233 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
I also have trouble sleeping. From what I have read from past posts it usually lasts 2 weeks. I take a bath and drink warm milk before I go to bed. I also go to sleep at the same time every night, even on weekends! Hope you get some sleep soon N.O.P.E. ~Valic My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/12/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 12 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 63 Amount Saved: $63.6 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 20 Mins: 59 Seconds: 29

Hi I can relate to you in the beginning of my quit. Try that melatonin that breaking free suggests and chamomille tea. Hot baths helps too with warm milk and honey, but you might have summer where you are?? and do not want anything warm?? But, i did found chamomille tea helped a lot with warm showers.. otherwise see Doc ann down under My Milage: My Quit Date: 6/6/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 47 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,088 Amount Saved: $747.3 Life Gained: Days: 4 Hrs: 6 Mins: 49 Seconds: 35

Use Melatonin. It is natural and it works. We need a rested mind to fight Nicodemon. Talullahmay, Sorry to hear you're still not sleeping, just keep at it! You've received some great suggestions already! Keep trying to establish a bedtime routine and remember this too shall pass. Check back soon, Danielle ________________________ The SSC Support Team

Ann - I agree that you need to re-charge each night and if you're losing sleep, your losing the energy to fight off addiction. Try some of the things suggested here. Do also try to get in bed at the same time every night to regulate. My sleeplessness last about two weeks, everyone is different - so hang in there. Maybe a nap right after work would help? Some can handle a nap, others cannot. Me, if I cant have 6 hours, I'd rather just stay up and coffee ~ Best, CobenFan My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/25/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 120 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,048 Amount Saved: $420 Life Gained: Days: 11 Hrs: 3 Mins: 31 Seconds: 50

day 5 - i've gone off sick from work tonight due to lack of sleep. i see it as looking after me. puting myself first. been very tearful today due to frustration of not sleeping. thank you for all you messages yesterday, the encouragement and the support. going for a brisk walk later to burn off some energy and going to have a hot bath before bed to chill out and relax. hope this will work and i'll get some sleep tonight. the thought of having a cigarette to help me sleep hasnt entered my mind - im worth more than smoking. ann My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/18/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 5 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 76 Amount Saved: 21.5 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 10 Mins: 5 Seconds: 44

Talullah, those are good coping mechanisms. Quitting smoking can interfere with your sleep patterns for a while. But know that you will get back to normal eventually. Watch your caffeine intake as well. You might also try some "Sleepytime" tea...contains chamomile. I've heard a banana before bed can help you sleep, too. I guess it can't hurt to try.
