Duckie067,
Very true. Remember SINTA (Smoking Is Not The Answer). The healthcare system definitely has its problems. Try to remain patient, things will move along.
Let rude assistants be and keep your doctor abreast of all your symptoms. Just keep pushing and take the time to decompress in between.
Big hugs for you today! Hang in there.
Danielle

Duckie,
That's it. Keep going. Today is a day to focus on you. With the stress of your quit and health, you're probably overdue for a day filled with rewards.
Big hugs, chin up.
Danielle

Duckie,
I know just how you feel...really I do. my last quit (which lasted about a month) was plagued by that feeling that I have lost my best friend in the whole world - my cig. well, it may feel this way, but cigs are not your friend and never were. It may help to write your cigs a goodbye letter so that you can feel some closure. hope things get better.
with love,
kat

Dear Duckie, I know how you feel about losing your friend, that is exactly how it feels! We invest so much emotional energy into smoking, thats why it is so difficult to quit. Just think about how bad that friend was for you and that the future holds many new, healthy friends. I also am feeling (not sure why) that this time I am really going to do it, it feels good doesn't it? Have a great day. I am 8 days smoke free today!

Duckie...you are tackling one of the biggest hurdles during our quit (the stressors) I am so sorry that you are getting such a rough ride with all these tests and I hope that things come together soon.
I am so proud of you for keeping your quit. Wishing you good days ahead!

I'm in for the weepy thread...although I seem to be so much better at cranky and whiney!
I had my own little pity party afew days ago. (*Hint - if you are going to throw a pity party, don't invite Shevie - he brings dancing guys and men with funny looking hats and makes IT VERY DIFFICULT TO KEEP UP WITH A DOWNRIGHT GOOD PITY PARTY)
I have felt like I was losing my best friend too and generally feel sorry for myself AT LEAST every 2nd day. It helps me to know that so many other people have felt the same way and that so many of those people have successfully quit and feel great today!
Keep Up The Good Fight! 5 smoke free days are awesome!

Duckie,
It must be the Libra sign because you sound just like me!! It is the big stresses that almost do me in but it has gotten better. I know you had said that you felt like you had lost a friend by quitting, well I felt like that too, that I was purposly depriving myself of my best friend. Well as you know that was the nicotine talking. You are doing great, keep posting, and stay strong, it only gets better!!!

Just take care of you for a few days!!! Treat yourself, I went and got a message after I quit. Try to pamper yourself and be patient it will get better.
For me it really made me realize how much of a drug nicotine really is. Let it all out and then have some tea!! ;)

Tea and cookies, maybe a big tup of icecream. Let it out, then get up and get real. Real quit. You can do it. You are not losing anything, but gaining so much. Your life, your freedom, your health, your confidence,so on,so on.
Be good to yourself, rewards are important. 5 days is great, you are almost done with hell week. You may see more emotions later. It is all normal. Your body and mind are healing.THIS IS A GOOD THING. Odd but true. Take care of your self.
Grace

Go ahead and cry and get it all out. Gotta have that last cry, but you are going to get the last laugh too. I thought of it as a best friend too. Now I think of it as, my best friend is dead and there is no way on Gods Green Earth to bring my best friend back. Now I laugh and laugh and laugh and show my white teeth when i do....not the yeller teeth I had when I smoked...that I would hide when I smiled or laughed.
