Phil you can do it as otherwise you are becoming dependant and addicted to the patches..however one step at a time..dont try to quit too much at the same time as i did... x My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/17/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 25 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 505 Amount Saved: 137.5 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 17 Mins: 33 Seconds: 22

From my experience---no---stay with the program. If you feel confident, just go down to the next lower dose and see how you do on that.

Phil, I was on the full strength patch for about three weeks and just about a week ago I took the patch off. I was scared that it would throw me into bad withdrawl but it was only slightly more uncomfortable than with the patch. I would recomend giving it a go without the patch and see how you feel...keep the patch close by so that if it is too much to deal with you can always slap a patch on. good luck p.s. your states look amazing!!! great job. kat My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/18/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 24 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 490 Amount Saved: $120 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 14 Mins: 52 Seconds: 18

Phil, Are you on a 10 week program. You would have one more week on the strongest patch. Do the program as directed. All I can tell you is from my experience that is what I did this time and I am at my 8 month anniversary today. Good luck. Phil, What's the rush? :) If the patch programme is working for you.....why "experiment" by stopping? NRT is a weaning process ~ if you read the instructions and follow the programme correctly there is absolutely no reason at all why you would become 'addicted' to them or dependant! I used the patches and, whilst there was a small 'change' each time I stepped down to a lower dosage, it was nothing dramatic or life changing. Keep doing what's working. Phil, It is always recommended that you stay on the full program to ease you through the process. Members have experienced this and can share with you :) Keep Strong, Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
