I have been fighting this for more than a week! I don't know if I can make it so much longer! Hi Riverman, Hi Lady, Hi Sunshine, Hi - everybody! I'm on my 112 days - or something like that - but please!!!! My cravings should have gone by now???? Five minutes - what a joke - talk about 5 days and no relief in sight! \ My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/22/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 111 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,679 Amount Saved: $499.5 Life Gained: Days: 13 Hrs: 1 Mins: 35 Seconds: 22

Thank you! I do feel much better this morning. Last night was awful but I did make it through and each one of you helped me so much. RD-Man, thank you for re-post my "after Spain" post, I do remember how happy and proud I was for not smoking. I don't know what went into my head last night, it was like nothing really meant anything anymore. I just wanted the cravings and the thoughts about smoking to go away, I was so tired of fighting this addiction and I almost gave up +100 non smoking days! It's hard to believe today and I am so thankful for the help and responses you gave me. Almost 4 months has passed; maybe I should give myself a nice reward!Carina My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/22/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 112 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,688 Amount Saved: $504 Life Gained: Days: 13 Hrs: 3 Mins: 8 Seconds: 57

Carina Read this as well
I am just coming back from a vacation in Spain with my husband. My Son and his family came from Sweden and we shared a wonderful week together. I were so happy when I got a big hug from my son and he told me that he always liked to hug me - but that it was so nice for him to not feel the smoke from me. He was very happy for me and I don't think I have ever felt so proud in my whole life! It was also so nice to be close to my Grand-kids knowing that I didn't smell awful anymore and I didn't need to have bad excuses to sneak away and have a cigarette. After a couple of days I realized that I didn't even count my number of smokefree days anymore. The flight was much easier, at the stop-over in the airport I didn't have a need to search for smoking areas and when I did pass the bars and coffee places where smoking was allowed - I didn't have the urge to smoke at all. To all of you who wonder if it is worth it - I can only say: YES - IT IS! It's not easy and you need to have the will, but you can do it! It is so very much worth it! Carina
You also did an amazing thing that tells me a lot about how dedicated you are to your quit. You dosed that pack you just bought at 7/11 and you came here and posted. Carina Sunflower Ultimately you will do what you will, however , first please listen to/read this. This crave, wanting has been with me for days. I have agreed with myself not to smoke. I need at all moments when the urge is great to reach into myself, find my strength, courage and force myself to take the higher road. I want a whole lot from this quit, I want a whole lot from not smoking and I am sure that you have the same. Now is the time to really examine what you want from your quit. Do you want: to smell better, be able to be close to your children and grand children, be proud as you were when you were complemented by your son, live a longer more healthy life, be able to breath without wheezing, be able to walk the block, race to the as is area of Bed Bath and Beyond because you know there is something great there. Why do you want to live a life of freedom from the addiction of smoking? What is your purpose? If you can tell me this. Write this and type this into a reply here. You will have found some of the help you need. You will have found your courage and your resolve to continue the fight to be smoke free. This journey into the reasons for my quit seem to be the only pillars that I can stand in right now. I wish you well my thoughts and hopes are with you. Please be very gentle with yourself. Know how fragile and vulnerable you are right now. Be well Peace Phillip My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/17/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 116 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,339 Amount Saved: $870 Life Gained: Days: 19 Hrs: 1 Mins: 33 Seconds: 19

Sunflower. I was shutting down and heading to bed when I heard you yell. DO NOT SMOKE! So many people give up on their quits at this point. You are so close to the point where the quit gets so much easier. Hang in there for a while longer. Yes it still sucks but it is getting better. Do not forget where you have come from. If you go back and think of those first couple of weeks, this is not as bad as that was. I know it is bad but it isn't as bad as smoking would be. Deep breaths. There will be times in this quit process that you will have to go back to your orginal coping skills. Get out that ice water, the peppermints and start breathing. It all still works. If it didn't get better do you really thing all us long term quitters would still be here? I wouldn't be. Hang on tight. Don't give up on yourself. Hi, Just a little something straight to the point, no playing around. As long as your mind holds on to the fact that you might give in and let yourself have a cig, it will continue to hold out hope that your quit won't last (and the cravings that come with it will overwhelm you). Make up your mind that there is no reason strong enough to make you go back to smoking. Not even______________! (you fill in the blank) Make the non-smoking your life, not the smoking, or fighting the smoking. Good wishes to you. Sunflower, Smoking will only make you feel better while the damn thing is lit! The minute you put it out, the withdrawal process starts again. The only way to put an end to it...is to not smoke! I am soooo proud of you for drowning the pack! Please, please be proud of yourself! You're doing a very difficult thing...but you are doing it! ~lbugg~
