Am on my 11th day of quitting. Thought I would continue to feel so proud of myself as I did last week, what a week it was. Feeling down and glum and have done for the past 3 days. Hoping it will pass. This is not like me,
Butt
We have all been exactly where you are. I wasn't prepared for the depression and it hit me like a brick wall. I have gone through moments when I am so proud of myself and the next moment I am a wreck.
It helped me to know that this is normal and that it will pass. Now you will just have to remind me the next time the blahs hit!
Take good care of yourself right now.
Windy

I surely sympathize with you there, Buttfree. This is one of the symptoms I never look forward to. I have to keep in mind that this is only temporary and will go away on its own. I'm starting to feel brighter now, not quite so many "down" moments. I still get frustrated though, and sometimes a little bit hard to live with right now says my hubby.LOL All of this will pass in time. Be proud of what you've accomplished and stay strong. You are not alone in this journey. Chin up. Cheers, Jan

I found out that I went throught a few stages in my quit and I still do. Just know you are not alone and you know smoking will not make your depression go away.
This nasty addiction still amazes me daily on how evil smoking is. I try to remember the stages I went through when I think I need to smoke. Your doing great and everything you are going through is normal. Give yourself exra compassion and patients you will get better!!!

It does pass. And if you read a few posts you will find that depression is commom. I felt down the first month, had withdrawls and cravings like crazy. But I came on here and posted and mostly used gum, suger free candy, and lots of water. Sure enough little by little the days got better just like everyone says. So just don't light up and reward youself. Also self talk helped me alot when I couldn't get to the computer. Hope you feel better soon and know that it doesn't last forever. N.O.P.E. ~Valic
