Relationship Problems

Internet dating is a very very long shot when it comes to establishing a substantial relationship. Of course, this is only my opinion. Be brave - take the time to tell him of your anxiety/panic disorder. It is easy to write things in an email - you may as well get it over with. Get it out in the open - it will lessen your anxiety about it. He will be prepared 'just in case' you have one. Remember to be 'safe' when it comes to meeting a total stranger from the Internet. Bye for now, Marei

Hi, Shannon. I believe that we usually live out our fears, unless we dimish them. To begin with, why not negotiate the first date? You have a say in this too. If you sign up for the free Panic Program, you will learn to challenge your fears, but in a manageable way so that it is not too much, nor too fast. Maybe you can make the first date something you know you can handle and with the help of the treatment program, gradually work your way to other things? -- Anne-Marie, Site Administrator

I recently found a guy on the internet that I would like to have a serious relationship with. It's been soo long since I've dated. He likes live music (crowds scare me). He also lives about 4 hours away and he said that he wanted to save up money to come see me. I don't want my anxiety to ruin this. I'm terrified I'll have a panic attack (he does not know the extent of my social phobia). I'm sure he will want to see some live music, and go to some busy resturant. I really don't want to screw this up. Please help!
