That's flat awesome. Now you will be better prepared for the next temptation that comes up. Know that you can get through it and how proud you can be of yourself. That guy that ticked you off isn't worth blowing it, hang in there and thanks for the post. Well Shannon....you definately know your triggers. I haven't encountered an extremely stressful situation in my quit yet and I know that I will have to use all my tools FULL FORCE when I do! This won't be the last time that you will have a difficult challenge ahead of you....but the next time you will be prepared. Keep quitting! (By the way....need all the tools I can get...so share any lessons you learn along the way) Windy My Milage: My Quit Date: 9/11/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 26 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 530 Amount Saved: $130 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 12 Mins: 25 Seconds: 3

Way to go! You passed the test with flying colours (and it sounds like a tough one) Sometimes it almost just seems like it would be just so easy to bum a cigarette (and then I remember how hard it has been to get this far!) Hi Shannon. Just checking in. Hope you are doing okay. Those of us who have been smokers are pretty good at beating up on ourselves. I'm not planning on having a slip or a relapse anymore than you were. However, I know that it happens. Since I'm new at this quitting thing, I don't know what that feels like (but having read posts from others it sounds like if feels awful) However, it may be something that some of us have to go through as part of the learning process. I have really struggled many days and have been so close to grabbing that cigarette. I'm sure alot of us have. Bad things happen, we all mess up sometimes...hope you come back and hope you are doing okay. So glad to hear you are back with us Shannon. I know what many of my weaknesses are but I have so many I can't keep track. Honestly, when I start thinking too far ahead, it can overwhelm me. "What will I do if..." That's why I just keep going one day at a time. Good for you to jump back on board! Please keep us posted! Sending positive thoughts from Canada.... Yes Windy i am going better. Like i said before i am glad i was not their. With the patch it is helping me a lot. I know their is no doubt that everyone was in a spot where they wanted to light up. For them that did not its great for them. The thing is i know for right now that i just needed that smoke. I hope down the road that if i am in that situation again or 1 like it i hope to avoid doing that. Cause i did learn from this what are some of my weakness' are and i know how to stop them. I know i can keep the quit but life has a way to mess things up a lot. Today at work i almost went to the store and bought a pack of smokes and blew my quit. I work as a security guard and at times it is very stressful under the best of circumstances, but today i their was this 1 customer at the bank i work at that ticked me off that bad i wanted a smoke. Then not 2 minutes later an employ came out to have a smoke and i came so close to bumming a smoke. The main thing is that i did not and popped 2 pices of gum in my mouth and started chewing it like their was no tomorrow. Well like i said i work in a bank and it can be very stressful, and this morrning 5 minutes after they opened they got robbed. Thankfully i was not their then it happened but was called to go in to work after. Well needless to say i had a couple of smokes, after work. I feel so bad for slipping, all i kept thinking is that "What if i was their what would have happened, to me if anything".
