I Don't Think it's Hormones

for 18 år siden 0 186 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
No i agree with you if its hormones then im pregnant!! Just try to not focus even on the one day at a time thing what I mean is that try to forget without placing emphasis on the smoking - as it will keep reminding you of ciggies!! For example go and buy a magazine or get absorbed in anything that makes you forget ciggies for a while - its a dual process your body and mind has to get used to the habit breaking process!!

It's OK to cry! If it makes you feel better, go for it! There's nothing wrong with getting it all out, letting them fall, and doesn't it feel so much better once you've done that? So go ahead! Don't feel bad or ashamed because you're crying! Get it out and then get on with life. I agree with Shaila that distraction is necessery. But first... go ahead and cry if that's what your body wants to do! Crying is sometimes very theraputic. Also, don't forget that you are also right at that dreaded 30 day pit. That could be part of the problem. If you're feeling apathetic and just don't want to go on, that's exactly how I felt during that period... and that caused my very first "slip." So, be careful of the 30 day pit. Sounds like you need to be good to yourself today if you can. Pamper yourself and spoil yourself! You're worth it! Crave the Quit! Actually, I'm having no cravings. Just being nicotine free seems to be hard. I met I guy after my maintenance group who said he quit in 1984. I asked, how? He said that each time he had a thought about cigarettes, he just pushed it out of his mind. So you're right. I think I'm tearful because I'm tired. This is so difficult. I just keep saying, One day at a time. Just do it for one day. I know that tearful thing, I cried all day yesterday, almost every minute of the day and had no control. I was going out of my mind, couldn't talk to anyone either because I would really break down. Couldn't even tell them why...hormones???? I don't think it was either, although I guess I could just blame it on that....lol. I think it was a combination of things, we have to remember how powerful our mind is and get it to a better place when we are like that....although that didn't happen for me until way later last night. I know what you are going through and honestly (even though you don't want to hear it) it will pass and get better. Remember what you are doing for yourself by quitting...it is the best gift you can give....hold it tight and protect it. Bgaineshunter Hi, the first symptom of withdrawal in the non-smoking journey is mild depression, so you must reward yourself everyday to get that dopamine working again. Rewards can be small a bubble bath a special food you like, anything you really enjoy, quitting smoking is hard and it must be all about you right now. I cried so much, i remember I was gardening and crying with the dirt mixed with the tears all over my face, what a sight, things get better and you will cry less, don't worry. Do it one day at a time :)Marie My Milage: My Quit Date: 6/13/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 66 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 999 Amount Saved: $264 Life Gained: Days: 8 Hrs: 18 Mins: 54 Seconds: 25

Bgaines, Be kind to yourself today, do anything and everything that may help lift your mood. If you need to cry, cry. If you need to sleep, sleep. A member in your situation recently found it helpful to read jokes online. Tommorrow will be a new day and tommorrow you can focus on how to put some fun into your quit. Is there anything you've ever wanted to try or take up? You're saving a lot of money and your options are unlimited. Give yourself a replacement that you cherish much more than smoking. Sending you good thoughts and hugs to make you feel better... Danielle ______________________ The SSC Support Team
