Hi, Emma, I would take the test offered here, print out the results and take it to your doctor. This test will help your doctor diagnose your condition, and he will be better able to treat you. It sure saves time. When I went to my doctor, I explained how I felt, and when, and exactly what it did to me, and how I felt about what was happening. I sure wish there had been a test like this one to aid in my diagnosis. I am still being treated fo rthis disorder, but I have successfully reached the point of being able to drive again. help is out there,,you have to be willing to take the time for yourself, and do the work. To be honest, it is worth every minute I spent on myself. There are billions of people in this world with this disorder. We are just now recognising its symptoms and learning how best to treat it. They have also isolated some of the causes..which is great. I have several types of panic disorder..one I was born with, one is from a car wreck, and one is from being abused. As you can see, I have come far in my successful treatment, and I am proud of this.Do yourself and your husband a favor and take the advice I have given. Your doctor will know what to say to your husband. I am no doctor..just a fellow panic person. Hope to hear from you about the doctors' visit. Red

Dear Emma, Well, I have severe panic attacks. Would you give me some more information about your 'spells' - be specific - exactly how do you feel when they happen? You have found a good site for support as well as one to learn from. Bye for now, Maria

hi all, i just found this site and am hoping someone can help? a few months ago, i started having "spells" at work where i would get really upset. the smallest things would get me so upset i couldn't stop thinking about it. it's only happened two times, but i took the anxiety test and it said i may have some symptoms of anxiety and panic. it also said i should take the results to my doctor. i'd like to see someone, but i guess i'm a little embarrassed, and i really don't want my husband to worry. has anyone else seen their doctor? what did you say? what did the doctor do? thank you.
