Monkey

Hi all, I just wanted to moan and groan for a while. I have made it 17 days now and yesterday afternoon had the worst withdrawl. Went running two miles, chewed NRT gum, took long hot shower but nothing worked. Quite painful. Today that monkey is back on my back. I think im over the physical part of nicotin, its the mental part now. I believe that is the toughest. This is where I failed last time because because it is not the "need" now, its the "want". I keep trying to talk myself into just one. I guess the pain will stop Tuesday, thats what I keep telling myself (Thanks Duffis, that was a good post)Thanks to you all for listening to me complain Mac My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/22/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 16 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 665 Amount Saved: $104 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 11 Mins: 21 Seconds: 11

Mac as I was reading your post, I'm thinking if you chew NRT gum you're not through with the nicotine part. For sure you'll have cravings at the beginning of your quit, use your coping mechanisms, drink a lot of water, chew sugarless gum, candy, chew on straws. Are you using patches or just the gum? Quitting smoking is hard but you're done with hell week and heck week, things will get easier from now on. Don't forget deep breathing. :)Marie My Milage: My Quit Date: 6/13/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 86 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,304 Amount Saved: $344 Life Gained: Days: 11 Hrs: 11 Mins: 18 Seconds: 19

Roll on Tuesday, it'll all be over then! Read and post, read and post. You've got through hell and heck week already, which is fantastic. You can do this.
