You'll love it. It will be all clean and great smelling ... not like an ashtray anymore ... yuk!!! Try to change your mindset. Think about all the great things you are going to do and experience because you are a non-smoker. Things you would not enjoy or even have the time to do if you were smoking. Be glad that you are in control of you now and not an addiction. Look in the mirror and realize you are taking your life back, that you are no longer a junkie. Be proud. Perspective and outlook really make the process of the Quit easier. Jdtigg - Attitude is everything and you sound like you have a great one. Stay busy, at work, at home, at play...keep moving but when you need to nap, then nap. Ice water helps, me I drink Seltzer water - I like the fizz. Whatever works for you - just don't smoke. Isn't it nice to say - I am a non-smoker! And if someone offers you one you can say - NO THANKS I DON'T SMOKE! You're doing a great job! I'm glad to hear things have gotten better for now. I think Pizza sounds pretty good, much better than a smoke. I spent my first month sucking on "Bob's Sweet Stripes" big fat peppermints. I still keep them in my desk, purse, and at home in all kind of places. Great for keeping your mouth busylong enough to get past that crave. JD, The first days seem to go on and on and on and on.....Then all sudden things are great and you congratulate yourself for hanging in there. Attitude is a healthy percent of our success in this quit. You can do it and just think of the times when you will be saying why did I ever smoke??? Jd, the first weekend is typically the hardest. There aren't the work distractions you have during the week, and many smoking triggers. You're pretty well detoxed now, so craves will be memory triggered. Just keep in mind that getting through this weekend will break many of those associations, so those won't be a future problem. Stay close, keep busy, and know that every minute smoke-free is another minute closer to freedom. :) Shevie My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/23/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 382 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 7,650 Amount Saved: $1451.6 Life Gained: Days: 71 Hrs: 7 Mins: 24 Seconds: 42
