Emotional Roller Coaster

for 18 år siden 0 3368 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
You know I have always loved roller coasters until now! Try to not beat yourself up for the withdrawal symptoms you are having ... expect them to come. Throw some reverse psychology at those withdraw symptoms ... welcome them, let them get comfortable and then when they are least expecting it ... KICK THEIR BUTTS! I'm glad you came on here and vented instead of smoking. That is great. Hang in there ... you can do this.
Drink your coffee.
Amen to that! I'm not giving mine up either. It is something I treat myself to. I got an early birthday present ... a $160 coffee machine for the gourmet coffee I like to drink. No way am I letting that bad boy sit on the counter and collect dust! :blush:This quitting thing is very hard. I am struggling through and using everything I have. I am mad at me for not being able to "deal" better. I am moody, preoccupied and aghhhhhhhhh. Up and down. Just have to get through I guess. I am doing the green tea, Gum, Pretzels. I have some busy stuff planned this weekend maybe that will help. My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/22/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 4 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 130 Amount Saved: $26 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 9 Mins: 41 Seconds: 53

One thing I do know about me is patience is not my strong suit. On my desk at work is a sign "ziggy cartoon" which said."i want it and I want it right now." I am a typical Aries in that way. So the psychological withdrawals are crazy crazy and I get very impatient with myself. My spouse said he did not notice. I am a stuffer and trying hard not to take my issues out on others. Insude I am yelling at the top of my lungs some not very nice things. So I do have a plan to get real busy this weekend and do some productive things. One day, Hour and minute at a time. BTW thanks for the advice. I need my caffiene though. The quitting is tapping my energy supply enough. Quitting my blessed Coffee on top of it would really send me over the edge. My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/22/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 4 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 131 Amount Saved: $26 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 9 Mins: 43 Seconds: 31

I find myself going through all kinds of stages. Lost at times. Spending way to much time on the Computer. Tired as I did not get alot of sleep last night. I am at my office I am unable to focus. I am drinking a ton of water and chewing gum all that fun stuff. Then of course during my first stages crisis hits. Stress is a huge trigger for me. I find out my Mother-n-law is in the hospital while on a vacation. I am very worried about her / we are pretty close. So selfishly I find myself bargaining for a sickarette. (internal battle) Common sense tells me: Do not use this as an excuse to smoke. I hate this part. Junkie thinking and knowing that still does not prevent it from happening. Err goes the emotional rollercoaster. I just needed to vent.

See now I am okay. Up and Down, Up and down. This too shall pass. I know that smoking sure will not fix anything. I sure will be happier when I get beyond this stage. Hi Northwoods- Hang in there! I am on Day 4 and the first three nights I broke down and cried like a baby. Last night was the first night I haven't cried and my moods are getting better and better. The crying actually helped in many ways to ease the frustration of quitting and cravings. Congrats to you on your quit, stay strong!

North, I love the passion in an Aries. My BF is an Aries and he is always getting himself so excited. It works well for things that are good for you and not well at all for things that are bad! :) Do not be impatient with yourself. If you are angry, don't hold it all in. You are gonna explode. Try some physical activity and if that does not make you feel better, just try to spend some time alone. I find that I want to yell at people a lot more now myself. I have been a holy terror the past few days. Drink your coffee. I won't quit that either. That is an entirely other addiction of mine. lol Hang in there North and keep telling us how you are doing. Yesterday I kept posting here because I was feeling SUPER evil. lol We will not judge you here. We all understand.
