Hi Phillip -
I read and reread your post, and it sounds and feels like there is fear all over the place here. And I have a question for you: Are you making it up or is it true? What I mean is, what if the doc is correct, and what you are experiencing IS panic?
I know panic well and I believe that at least part of what you are experiencing is panic. And worrying and beating yourself up is not going to calm panic. For many years panic was my best friend, and I know her well. Quiet down the energy. Nothing is going to happen or come up that you can't handle, right? Well, has it ever? Remind yourself who you are, Phillip.
Gentle down the energy. Be your best friend right now (that means unconditional love!) and some compassion for YOU would be really good right now, ya think?
:) One day at a time. One step at a time.
Love and Blessings-
Healer

Hi Riverdale Man,
I also have shortness of breath, struggle to breathe fully and I have a hard time catching my breath. Then I get dizzy and have to lie down. Im also tired and fatigued a lot more now then when I smoked. With me I only seam to get the shortness of breath when I'm feeling anxious and as soon as I calm myself down it goes away. Im sure everything will be OK. The waiting just makes it harder. Hang in there!

Phillip -
This is really weird because on Monday I woke up with the
dryest cough I have ever had. I thought - what is the deal -
I'm not smoking but now I am hacking?? I walked on the
treadmill yesterday and then tried to swim some laps using
your routine that you shared the other day. I say Tried
because I swam one lap and was so out of breath that I had
to stop and just relax in the pool and then get out. Maybe
this is something that happens to our bodies when we are
getting close to 100 days or so. I have no idea. I am going
to try again today to swim. I have been tired for the last
two weeks but I have chalked that up to so much going on.
I'm with you pal - and you've gotten some great advice. Take
some time to just lie down and breath. Relaxing from your
toes up to your brain - maybe that will help.
Take Care

Thank you all.
I will continue to update you on this current saga.
I am sure that all is well or at least I will be able to deal with whatever it is.
One of my swimming coaches had a suggestion and it might be a reaction to a bit to much chlorine. I swam last night and the pool had been closed for two days and they might have shocked the chlorine to get the level up, I resently had bronchitis and I am probably still fragile from that. So this could be a million things, pollution, allergies etc. Thank you each for your response I feel so well cared for.
I know as well that I simply need to relax and let life happen. Thanks Healer, I don't think the outset of this is panic and when I can't get air I get more and more upset and then it turns to anxiety.
Therefore the whole thing about relaxing.
Thanks
Good Night
Phillip :)Peace out

I am having a hard time breathing.
I get short of breath, struggle to breath fully and get dizzy, tired, fatigued and have a dry cough feels like my throat is totally dry and I just can't catch by breath.
Dr says this might be panic, have had a chest xray and no cancer, have had a pulmonary function test and waiting for results.
I am scared and impatient angry with myself cause I have no one and nothing to blame but myself for this.
This has not to do with the struggle to not smoke and it has everything to do with my own discomfort at living with the result of my smoking for 36 years.
Any one share this, any one identify. I can not concentrate and my mind just keeps going to that this is something awful and I will be this way for the rest of my life. I have gone to see the Dr and I know I need to be patient and wait for the results. I just want to hear from others who might share or identify with this problem or even with me?

Hi Riverdale, sorry to hear that you are going through this bad patch, I am not a doctor nor do I have all the symptoms you describe. I have however also been a little out of breath for short periods, seem to have been coughing a bit more lately and sometimes have a dry throat. I am not too concerned and just put it down to the healing process.

Riverdaleman, I'm sad to hear you're going through this. I don't know what is causing all these symptoms, but I'm glad to hear you've been to the doctor and you've taken tests to help diagnose this. Has this been going on for awhile, or is it something that has recently happened? I'm gonna say something that is easy to say, but hard to do, and that is really try not to panic yourself too much over these symptoms. I know you must be feeling scared and apprehensive, but the fear of the unknown is often scarier than the problem. I'm hoping and wishing this is the case for you. I'm also hoping you don't have to wait too long for your results. Please keep us in the know on how you are doing. We care about you. Keep Strong Phillip, you're in my thoughts.
