woops.... forgot my note Dear Ryan Way to go on 3 days! That is AWESOME! You are almost half way through hell week. These are the most difficult days but you can do this! You are on the right path.....coming here, eating candy instead of smoking. Be sure to drink lot and lots of water. Take Care Ryan...we are here for you My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/30/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 106 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,599 Amount Saved: $318 Life Gained: Days: 11 Hrs: 15 Mins: 6 Seconds: 45

Yes, I remember day 3 as well. It's not easy - take deep breaths and think about that the reason you feel like this is because all the posions and chemicals is leaving your body! Change the craving to a positive feeling :) You are chewing on Swedish fish? I'm just curious; I'm Swedish and I can't for my life figure out what you are chewing on :confuse: :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/22/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 82 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,241 Amount Saved: $369 Life Gained: Days: 9 Hrs: 15 Mins: 51 Seconds: 58

So you don't get fat from snacking more. The whole you eat more because you are bored then smoke thing Hey man it is hard I had a six month quit going and it came to the fall season and hunting and so one and I gave in. I think I had over 180 days of a quit. Be carefull and congrats on your time. But remember it is a marathon not a sprint. And I only was able to do a mid distanse race. Keep your head up and dig in them heals and you will do it.

Hi, Ryan. My third day was the worst, too. I actually left work to buy a pack so I could shred them as I thought of why I quit in the first place. It was so much worse than anything I'd ever imagined quitting would be like. Keep in mind why you quit in the first place. Imagine life not chained to the addiction. You'll be free to do something uninterrupted by a smoke. You'll be free to go worry-free to places smoking is not allowed. You'll never again have to be concerned that people may find you offensive because you smell like smoke. Hang in there, Ryan. Focus on the job at hand. Drink lots of water. Breathe deep. You can do this. Great job Ryan! The coolest part is that now you have positive reinforcement on your side. Tomorrow you can say, "if I made it through yesterday I can certainly get through today." That is a HUGE accomplishment. I too remember those jaw clenching first days. My desk drawer looked like a 7-11 but I made it. Another thing that helped me a lot was brushing my teeth after lunch, drinking water with lemon and short walks around the office. Onto Day 4 and you're that much closer to a WEEK.
