Hi, I know where your coming from. That is the biggest reason that help keeps me from picking up a cigarette. Other then the fact that they are bad for my health and may take my life before I could see my daughter grow up or just as bad live with an oxygen tank and not be able to enjoy her.But I felt the same way you do. My daughte will be 13 in June and she is aware of the dangers of smoking and has begged me to quit. All I would say to her is its not that easy its very addicting and you should never start. But how could I stand there and tell her how bad of an addiction it is and I cant stop but I will risk leaving you. So the cigarette is more important then her and what message are we saying to them if you ever make a mistake or get addicted to something you can never stop it because we are weak and thats what I think of every time I want one. My prayers are with you and good luck but we can beat this. It is poison we are putting inot our bodies and we are just like a heroin addict and thats enough to make me sick. Reading and posting is a great help here.

Well I am starting tomorrow. This is my second try at quitting. I tried the first of 2005 and made it about 2 weeks then I don't know why but I gave in. I am really ready this time, not only for my health issues but I don't want my precious 5 year old little boy to have a mother who smokes as his example growing up. How am I ever supposed to make him understand how bad it is, if it is something that I continue in my daily life? So here I go...I have made a choice and I am ready. I know it wont be easy and there will be some routines that I need to change for a while. With the support that I receive from this site, and my prayers I am sure that I will be able to overcome this demon once and for all. I am lucky this time though, being prepared for what the next few weeks will be like. I know that it is not going to be easy and I know that there will be withdrawl symptoms...so I am ready to take this one day at a time. All that I ask is that you just keep me in your thoughts. Have a great day. Congratulations to everyone who has beat this...I am so excited to join this journey!!!
