Congrats Blythe on your 36 days. It seems a lot of us have a bit of the crazies between 30 and 45 days. I recently had a bad couple days myself. I can't tell you quite what it was, or what caused it. I am sure it could be different for everyone. But the good news is I hung on and things have evened out again. I KNOW you don't want to lose 36 days! Just keep your quit strong. These feelings WILL end soon. You WILL feel better and positive again. Hey Blythe, I've been having pretty bad cravings too. I just keep telling myself how far i've come and i would not want to go through the first few days again. Take a deep breath and congratulate yourself. You deserve it!! The cravings will pass. kitty My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/12/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 40 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 812 Amount Saved: $200 Life Gained: Days: 3 Hrs: 6 Mins: 23 Seconds: 11

Blythe- What has worked for me is reminding myself in vivid detail what is was like at the beginning; back when I was still kidding myself that "slips" did not mean starting all over. When I realized that I was sending myself back to square one each time I slipped, that is when the cravings stopped controlling me. Oh, I still get one now and again when the right trigger goes off. But I no longer have that overwhelming urge to act on it. I just don't wanna go back there. Just remember one thing: You do not smoke. Period. Say it to yourself and anyone who will listen, even if you don't believe it at first. You will. And so will everyone else. Cold Turkeys don't smoke. Blythe and Kitty...hang in there. Some days are better than others. Quitting can be an emotional roller coaster. Each crave you make it through makes you that much stronger. With 36 and 40 days under your belts I don't have to tell you how much better not smoking is than smoking is. You have already figured that out for yourself. For me it always helped to realize that I could smoke any time I wanted to. However, I Chose not to smoke. It is all about choice. I chose to live instead of killilng myself slowly with a cigarette. You know quitting is the smart thing to do. These times will pass and you will feel so much better. Just keep taking it one step at a time. That is how we all do it. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/1/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 235 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,712 Amount Saved: $822.5 Life Gained: Days: 20 Hrs: 18 Mins: 18 Seconds: 49

Blythe, hang in there. You are in the hardest part of the quit. But just keep reminding yourself why you quit. The biggest thing for me each day is to log on and see those stats. Knowing I am adding days of life not taking them away helped me alot in keeping my quit. Use that meter as your daily reminder. Keep up the good work! You can do it!
