Ok guys I was just hanging out with this guy I have been seeing and all of a sudden the B**** mode hit. I was like picking little fights with him over nothing. Finally I just got up grabed his smokes and lit one up and took three drags off of it and was like to h** with these d*** smokes and put it out. Is that good that I put it out. Really confused.

hey butterfly.... Stress is a MAJOR trigger for us. MAJOR. GI-NORMOUS. COLOSSAL, in fact! Don't use it as an excuse. I have battled that one for a while - when my hubby and I have our "knock down, drag outs" so to speak - the first thing I use to do was rush outside to have a smoke. NOW I am forced to deal with the situation differently - which is very, very difficult to do..... Read as much as you can about smoking and the addiction behind it. Smoking is not "a bad habit" as some might think. It is a true drug addiction, and we are all addicts. Quitting smoking is simple - just don't smoke. It's not easy, however and you realized that today. Be prepared for the next time and you'll do just fine...... bb05, "Is that good that I put it out. Really confused." If putting out a cigarette you puffed on after your futility got the best of you confuses you then I would say you truly are confused. Quitting is not a game we play with. If you want to keep your quit then focus on it and not use fights with your smoking boyfriend as justification to light one up. And if you really want your quit to last, look for a non-smoking boyfriend. They are out there. It will require a bit of a life style change for you. But change is good. Best wishes. is it good that you put it out??? well, we generally put them out after we smoke them. What would be good here is if you would make some plans that would keep you from ever 'grabbing one and lighting up'. If you place yourself in the right situations, then find ways to add a bit of stress, you are probably going to continue to light up. Stay clear of smokers for a while....or let them know you have quit and request that they curtail the smoking in your presence. You may think this sounds rather harsh....but you need to ask yourself just how serious you are about quitting?? There is nothing confusing about making your quit the number one priority in your life for a few weeks. If you aren't willing to do that then you aren't serious about quitting. bitter, Keep Strong and realize your breaking point. Take some avoidance and distraction time, not puff away time. This isn't easy but it can be done. Take the time to make sure your ready to be in situations with smoking. Bring your coping mechanisms and protect your quit. Keep Strong, Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
