hi everyone, i am ashamed of myself for letting it happen! for the last few days i have been feeling like a smoke, tonight i had a few puffs of one, just couldn't resist!! i only had about 3 puffs then put it out! i was so curiouse to see what it would be like!! after,i had to get the air freshener out, the house stunk!! and i thought i don't want that again. i think if i had smoked it all i would have felt dizzy and sick, i did feel a bit woozy tho, i bought the pack of 10 last night but didn't touch them untill now, i have thrown the rest in the bin. i had to come on here and confess my sin!!!! Chris. My Milage: My Quit Date: 11/11/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 64 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,293 Amount Saved: 288 Life Gained: Days: 8 Hrs: 10 Mins: 57 Seconds: 46

Hi everyone, i'm still here smoke free!! no fags in the house!! as i said in my 1st post it was curiosity just to see what it would be like after all this time, and since then i've felt really good about myself, i still get a few cravings but not as bad as i was last week, but they soon go away, to be honest i only think about the fags a few times in the day now! i had to get it out of my system.i have started exercising as i am putting on a lot of weight,i know part of it is with quiting, but i also know it's partly to do with my thyroid problem as well, so i have a battle with 2 things!!!!! but i am getting there!!! the exercising was hard to start with but it is getting easier now! ;) My Milage: My Quit Date: 11/11/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 67 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,353 Amount Saved: 301.5 Life Gained: Days: 8 Hrs: 20 Mins: 27 Seconds: 19

You don't need a lecture cos you know what you did was so dangerous......you felt whoozy because the nicotine hit your brain within 6 seconds! All those hungry receptors went WHOOOOPEEEEEE!!!! And the brain said "I want another one.............." Go read the Allen Carr book if you can find it, he has a chapter on this issue. The next two weeks are going to be incredibly dangerous for you and you may suffer some form of withdrawral again. I've been there and got a pile of the "T" shirts. Please post and let us know that you are OK. brent

I read your post and remembered having the exact same feeling at 65 days. The crave for just one, the curiosity about am I over it, whatever, made me so nervous that I would lose it. I decided to go for help. Went to my M.D. and got a perscription for wellbutrin. I took it for a month and by that time was very secure in my quit again so never got a refill. If the junkie thinking persists, go get some help. Also, what are you doing to reward yourself? (an important part of rhe process).Perhaps you need to go shopping......... You are doing great. Stay strong. Don't smoke. Hi glo, its a lesson learned .. now you know its not really a cig you were craving for but a lost habit. I did the same on a night out at the start of December only I had a bit more than you.. however, now I know that even if I do get the odd thought for a fag .. its not a fag I want .. does that make sense ? Just keep on not smoking and you are still quit .. that my thoughts anyway ;) My Milage: My Quit Date: 6/7/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 224 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,493 Amount Saved: 1075.2 Life Gained: Days: 37 Hrs: 3 Mins: 53 Seconds: 26

Glo, First of all, I would make sure the cigs are destroyed - not just in the bin. I know me, and if I had cigs "in the bin" then I'd be rummaging through the trash can to go get them. I think you should make sure they are thoroughly destroyed so you don't get tempted to try it again. Second, I want to congratulate you for coming here and letting us know and then getting back at your quit. A slip isn't the end of the world... just make sure you don't let it happen again. Figure out what you can do next time to keep yourself from smoking when you're in a similar situation. Crave the Quit! Hi Chris, it isn't a sin to "slip." And it really isn't a slip. It's a deliberate act that you chose to do. There is no judgement. It just puts you back to where you were before. If you are serious about quitting, you will not have any cigarettes anywhere near you. You can't quit if you smoke. If you smoke, you aren't quit. The only way to be a non-smoker is to not light up another cigarette. It's that simple. You can do this, Chris! get them out of the bin and "destroy" them. and be figuring out how you could have distracted and delayed from going and buying them in the first place. You are at that point when you realize it's goodbye to smoking.....that's a big hurdle to jump....work extra hard on coping skills at this point.....and be sure there is a reward program in place that keeps you looking ahead. katy
