I agree with Lady- why mess with nicotine now, so far into your quit? I'm using the patch, but as recommended from the start and in 3 weeks, will be done and nicotine free. But it makes no sense for you to get involved with it now. Hang in there, it's normal, unfortunately. Lady, Thanks for the info.I am having a rough time but still not smoking. Maybe something did trigger this. Haven't smoked and don't intend to, just wondering how many have gone through this. I have not smoked in 45 days. I quit cold turkey. Can anyone tell me why the past 3 days I have wanted to smoke. It does not feel like I want to smoke out of HABIT and I know the nicotine is out of my system. So what is it that is making me crave a cigarette? If these urges continue and I have trouble fighting them off should I put on a nicotine patch. I know it would be stupid to put nicotine back in my system, but would'nt that be better then smoking? Any insight would be greatly appreciated. imdone I too quit cold turkey and was having some "new" cravings last week. At this point the nicotine is definatly out of our system so this is just a pyscological withdrawal. Take some deep breaths, watch your quit meter and think about how far you've come....you will get through this just fine. Imdone...I'm sure if you think about it you will find that you have probably done something for the first time without smoking. Craves come and go. As we get farther into our quits, they are more rare. Different things trigger the craves. I would not use the patch. I too was a cold turkey quitter and I do not recommend putting nicotine in any fashion back into your system. If you just hold on it will pass. Think back to that first 3 weeks of your quit. I'm sure this is nothing in comparison. You have a great quit going. Protect it at all costs. Go back to your orginal coping techniques. You will find they still work. Drink some water and take a lot of deep breaths. You are doing great! Don't stop now. im, This is normal and will pass! Keep your coping mechanisms on hand and do what it takes to stay quit. 45 days is amazing and you should be proud! Keep Strong, Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
