Hey NascarFan!
I am about to head home and sit in traffic for about half an hour ... and that is the time I would usually smoke! Believe me, I understand the craving!
But this is our first day and we are gonna get through this! I have faith in both of us....
:) Good Luck tonight!
In the evenings to not think about smoking. I would think it would be at work where the stress is but no its not! I get it, I am bored at night and have more time to think about the cravings but Ugh!
My son is napping so I can't go walk but I think I will start putting his scrapbook together to pass time.
I am having a pretty good craving right now so any responses would be appreciated.
I'm Jonsin!

My evenings are mostly filled with non-smoking people. So I don't have a problem with weekday nights. Take it one/hour one/day at a time. We will get through.

Hey Nascarfan,
You know, the sooner you do something to keep your mind off of smoking the better. The down time can be tough but we are tougher!!!
Scrapbooking is a good thing, writing a letter or in a journal is another, making a gourmet dinner, anything to keep your active mind occupied will help you through the tough times. You know you can do this. Hey, even read some of the other posts and try to think (then write) what might be possible solutions or antics that will make someone else laugh or even smile! Remember you are in the driver's seat of this quit and can drive yourself where ever you want to be...in Smokesville or Freedomland!!
Hang in there!
Joonie

NascarFan,
Yes, boredom is one of the worst quit killers there is! But just like joonie said, find something to occupy your mind and your hands and you'll be fine. Distraction really is key to a successful quit. Hang in there. The first day is rough, but it IS doable.
Crave the Quit!

Nascar,
Get busy and start that scrap book! This is a great way to occupy yourself. Distraction can really help as well as avoidance. Always have a coping mechanism by your side to curb those big craves.
We are always here to help!
Keep Strong,
Josie
