Eye Effect

I noticed that yesterday and today my vision is not as sharp as it should be. I wear glasses and the prescription has been changed to a stronger one, but I haven't recieved the new lenses yet. Could the vision loss be associated with the drop in nicotine? Has anyone else had vision problems? Cravings were more frequent today, and stronger than they have been before. I'm still a puff away... Thanks for your support, I read all the posts and it helps me quite a bit. The crave has finally past. I can't tell you how much it helps when you all take time from your lives to respond to my petty whinings. This thing is not going to beat me. I won't allow it. Don't know why I am sooo moody today. I'll get past that one too. Thanks, again.

Guess no one else has had any vision problems associated with the quit... Mine is much better today, but I awoke a few hours early this morning and have been trying to beat the nico-urge back to its corner. I can't seem to get away from it. I thought this was supposed to get easier, but I am just about to climb a wall. I'll read my list again, I really want to, and have to quit..

Bypass -- I had about a day and a half last week during which my vision was blurry and I had trouble reading (I also wear glasses). Thankfully, it has passed. Hang in there... That's interesting because I've noticed in the last couple of days that my eyes have been quite bad - especially reading (I wear contact lenses and my prescription is less than 6 months old, and the dodgy eyes have only happened in the last few days - I quit 2 weeks ago tomorrow)...I'll keep an eye on it....(another unintentional pun) My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/4/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 13 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 165 Amount Saved: 15.6 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 10 Mins: 57 Seconds: 19

Bypass........ Steady..........stay focused (no pun intended) on what you really want. One smoke will not do it. Ever. Think past the actual craving and concentrate on what WILL happen after you put out the cigarette..... In about 1/2 hour, you will want another one. Can you see yourself lighting up smoke #2? What will be going thru your mind? Will you be totally disgusted with yourself for getting yourself back into it again? This is what I do when the cravings attack me. I try to picture life after that smoke - and it works..... To answer your question about your eyesight - I have read other posts here on how quitting can affect your vision. You are in Day 4 right now......if it doesn't seem to clear up or completely go away, call your doctor to ask. But I think it will. It's your body getting rid of the garbage accumulated from years of smoking. And yes, it DID impact your eyes! Good luck, don't give in......... Hey Bypass Your "whinings" aren't petty. We all have been there and will probably be their again. This is the place to come when you are feeling out of sorts and need to vent. Keep your quit. vicki just 1 puff away from 2 packs a day My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/17/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 92 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,698 Amount Saved: $644 Life Gained: Days: 12 Hrs: 13 Mins: 52 Seconds: 48

Bypass, Take the time to check with your doctor regarding your eyes. Everyone's body is effected differently when they quit. Remember, If you have a symptom that persists or seems worse than you expected, you should immediately consult a doctor. Its possible that your smoking has been masking symptoms of some illness, and when you stop smoking the symptoms abruptly become noticeable. Hope this helps, Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
