Its Day 2 now. Feeling good. Strange, my quit-counter hasn't updated. It should say 1 day quit.
Anyhow...I've been having these little "mini-attacks" that only last a second. My brain telling me to have a cig...then my concsious mind saying no.
But...I had a long 30 minute episode last night after a big dinner. Deep fog, serious cravings. Seemed like it would never pass, but finally it did.
I can already smell things a lot better than I could a couple days ago. I'm trying to keep as busy as possible and keep my thoughts positive.

Hi all...
my last cig was before bed last night. Today is my first day.
I'm definately feeling "the fog", but its ok. Its a funny feeling...almost feels like being high.
I'm doing a 14mg patch...kinda takes the edge off. No really noticable...I think its all in my head.
I'm keep a low profile...no excitement. Just keepign busy at home. Might go see a movie with my GF tonight, but I opted out of going out to bars. Sadly, I work in bars (I'm a musician)...so next weekend will kinda suck. Luckily in California, you can't smoke inside anywhere, not even in bars...so it actually takes a LOT of effort to go smoke.
I'm feeling really strong...just fighting the little "tricks" my brain pulls on me. It says "Time for a smoke"...and then I have this little feeling of disappointment a second later when I realize I don't smoke anymore. Its funny how my brain really wants me to go have one....I'm actually fighting my own brain. Weird. This time I'm gonna win.
Thanks..this forum really helps me. I just hope my "fog" doesn't last a month like some people.

Hi everyone! Its Day 4 and I'm still alive! Still wearing the 14mg patch..although I take it off when I sleep. No problems with nightmares. The patch makes me a little spacey. I'm looking foward to losing it completely.
I had another "twitch" this morning...momentary desire for a cig. I used to get right of bed and have one when I woke up. Easy to overcome though.
I'm doing ok. I'm done smoking for good. I never even liked it...I'll puff and feel guilty for years. Hide in corners because I was so ashamed about my self destructive and filthy habbit.
There is a real good and positive feeling you get when you stop smoking...although I will always consider myself a "recovering smoker"...I guess its like being an alchoholic. I can never be a "social smoker". I'm going to be really careful not to fall in that trap again..that's how I failed all my other quit attempts. I'd pass the 3 or 4 month mark and feel I was able to just have "one" every once in a while...NO WAY..not this time!
Thanks for all your support! You guys are great!

Stay with it, you can do it!!! After all, cigaretts are only dried up weeds that we USED to set on fire and inhale the smoke. Sounds pretty stupid, huh.
