Hi Northat60... welcome to this site. It is a good place to find respite and relief from so much pain. Bless you for being a caring person and helping so many with the trauma. I can think of no tougher job... as you well know, it is vitally important that you take care of yourself first and learn the art of compassion without sacrificing yourself. I hope you will stay... work the program... post often. We are here to listen and support as we do care deeply as well.
Welcome to the DC forum. You have found a very respectful community of people who share their experiences with depression and readily offer insight and kind support.
It is a safe space for you to write about your own struggles and life experiences without feeling embarrassed. It will not only help you deal with unresolved issues, but you will find there is always a member available to 'listen'.
What would you like to get out of this program? What are some personal goals you have set for yourself?
I think that depression has been a life-long struggle for me with many unresolved issues that I have been coping with and burying. Mostly because I think I should have outgrown them by now and I feel somewhat embarrased they can come up and grab me. I work with people who experience chilling and horrible experiences - at times the similarity of situation or working to get people to talk and listening to their experiences will affect me in private time when I think of the situation.
