I'm new to this site. So far I'm very impressed with what I'm finding. "Hello darkness my old friend, I've come to talk with you again..." sums up my long history with depression (although in truth it is a pretty rotten friend). I've had some success with CBT and I'm looking forward to a progressive, systematic approach to getting out of this "latest" 2 year and counting funk. I don't have health insurance and cannot afford to pay for in-person counselling — so again, I'm looking forward to seeing how things go here.
It says something about the level of my depression that I've finally gotten enough energy to find something like this and actually took the time to sign up. Small steps, one foot in front of the other...
I've been diagnosed with a variety of things over the years and am not sure which, if any, fit. I've been on Celexa for years and think it is probably helping in keeping the downs from being any worse. I live in a city where I have no friends, no relatives, and kinda dislike the city...so online support groups are an excellent resource for me.
