jameyrae, I know it's hard to see a therapist for the first time and with your having to change so frequently must make it more difficulty. However, I can tell you from personal experience not going in with the attitude of getting help or that it will work and/or not being honest with your therapist is sabotaging your own treatment. It also takes a while for a therapist to get to know someone and be effective in providing therapy. Give them a chance, however, keep in mind that one size does not fit all in terms of therapy. I don't know about your financial resources or your health care system, etc. But if you find you are being honest, seeking help, and it's not working, then requesting a new therapist YOURSELF, is not a bad idea. After all, why do you spend the time going if you don't have an open-mind.
Will they cure you - NO. Unfortunately there is no cure, but we do get better - and that is one tool (therapy) to utilize in that recovery.
I hope you have a positive experience.
