Terry,
I know that sometimes it is frustrating to be on the site and want to talk rather than post and yet there is nobody in the DC messenger.
Keep trying and try again as often as you can - my times to be online, for instance, are early in the morning for an hour or so at about 5am - 7am and I'll launch the DC messenger when I sign in.
Being low on energy these days due to illness I cannot be sure that I'll always be here but the illness is waning and I have more energy these days - so, look out for members on the Messenger! And remember to add my name to your list there!
Hi Terry,
Thanks for asking about our instant messaging feature. This is a great way for members to converse.
I will copy a post below which outlines the use of this feature in case anyone is not sure how to use it.
In addition to disabling your pop-up blocker, you also must set your security settings to the default level.
To do so, follow these steps:
* Open Internet Explorer web browser
* Go to tools at the top of the screen
* Go to internet options
* Go to the security tab
* Click on the icon that says default level
How to Log Into the DC Instant Messenger:
1. Log into the DC.
2. Go to the DC Support Group home page.
3. Click the word “Launch” (this will be right above the main forums table on the DC Support Group Home Page)
4. Voila! You are logged in and ready to chat with other DC members who are logged in and have the Web-Based IM Open.
How to Add Members:
1. Log into the DC.
2. Launch the DC Instant Messenger.
3. Click “Add New Contact” at the top of the screen.
4. A screen will pop up. Insert the nickname of the Buddy (their nickname is the name that they use in the Support Group) that you want to add to your contact list and click “Add”
5. You can now begin chatting with your Buddy

Just new to this program and was wondering if anyone ever used the DC Instant Messenger program to chat instead of posting as I would like to talk to people with depression and anxiety.
Thanks
