onlyme,
Welcome to our support community. You can browse through the site and ask your friend to take a look. We have a depression program that is free and many members have raved of its usefulness.
Here are some good points to follow when seeking counseling,
1. Find a physician you can trust and be open and honest with. This way you can explain your symptoms and worries.
2. Let your physician complete any evaluations or examinations necessary to determine the cause of your symptoms. Be sure they explain the procedure to you and if you want to have a nurse, family member or friend by your side be sure to let them know this.
3. Your physician may want to have another specialist follow up with him or her. It is important at this time to follow your physician’s advice.
Our Depression test can help better assess the situation for your friend and a copy can be printed for the doctor.
She may be at a point in her life where she wants answers. Looking for answers to your questions and concerns is an amazing step. Please continue to share your thoughts with us. We can walk you through our program if needed.
We hope that this information given to you today has helped answer any questions you may have had on seeking counseling.

My best friend is fighting to come out of clinical depression. Her family has turned away and I'm all she has. She is also starting treatment for the Hepatitis C virus, which in itself may lead to depression. I am woefully unprepared and need guidance on how to help her through this. I can't replace the people she loves and don't give her the time of day. If I call her or knock on her door, she wants to be alone. If I don't call her, she gets upset because I should have known to call her. I understand these are symptoms. But I don't know how to deal with them. I have joined this site hoping the healthcare professionals and other sufferers of depression can guide me. Please, whatever input you can give me will be greatly appreciated.
