Michael,
Stick with your doctor and ask many questions. Bring him a copy of the Depression Test, this may help better assess the situation. Remember, everyone's situation is different and there are many factors to consider.
Your doctor will be able to assess the situation and help you through this. Take the time and go slow, you doctor is on the rigth track.
Hope this helps,
Josie

I think that it's possible. There are a lot of people who have only one episode of depression in their life and never have a recurrence. I think you're going to find that a lot of the people who communicate on this board have experienced or are experiencing recurrent or chronic forms of the illness. Please do not assume that this will apply to you. Keep in touch with your doctor and keep him/her up to date on how you're doing. I have a very good friend who had a similar experience. She had one episode of depression about ten years ago that lasted a couple of months and has never had another so I KNOW it's possible. Hang in there!
I have major depression(among other things). My Dr. says I'll be over it by summer. Is this realistic? I would love to hear how long it's taken some people to get better. Thanks.
