That is right ... if worse comes to worse you can use the inhaler. My husband took his patch off a few days after I did. He used me as the guinea pig ... LOL. I think it helped him knowing that the patch was still in the cabinet ... just in case. At this point there is no nicotine products in my body or in my house and it feels so good. Each step down of the patch is 7mg. I was irritable for about a day on a 7mg. step down. I decided to come off of my NRT early too. I wanted the nicotine out of my systm. I wanted the addictive drug gone. I took my 21mg patch off and had approx 3 days of being pissed off, crying, eating the house down, exercise, eating hard candy, chewing the heck out of gum. I was 'off' ... weird. Hard to explain. Please keep in mind that this does not mean that you will be. You may be able to come off the inhaler with no problem. This was my experience. I took the patch off because I was sure that I was dedicated to my quit and prepared for it mentally. If you feel that way as well ... I say go for it if it is ok with your Doc. Hey Cheermom, You say you have been using the inhaler this past week, but hardly at all? How many times a day have you been using the inhaler and how many mg's of nicotine does it deliver? Cigarettes Not Smoked

Ok, not sure if its called NRT or NTR or whatever. I do have a question as I have been doing "alright" (wouldnt' say strong yet) on the not smoking but am using the nicotrol inhaler (like the patch but dont wear it) and have gone through the dizzy stages (still am actually) and the doctor said once I get used to getting more oxygen into my body/brain, I need to ween myself off it (just like the patch). What am I to expect if I decide to go full cold turkey instead of weening off of it considering I hardly use the darn thing anyways? My doctor said to ask here and let you know that it is the same thing as the patch but you inhale the dose instead of putting it on you arm. Is someone out there that has used the inhaler OR patch and can tell me what to expect? I'm 8 days clean of actually smoking a cig and was just wondering if I'm up for a shocker on more symptoms/withdrawals. Thanks a bunch Kim My Milage: My Quit Date: 6/7/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 8 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 213 Amount Saved: $32.4 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 18 Mins: 3 Seconds: 54

Thanks for telling me your experience, Breaking Free. I feel the same way as you right now. I am ready to get ALL nicotine out of my system, not just the smoking part of cigs. My body is getting more oxygen as I did go through the dizzy and "spaced out" sessions and still am every once in a while. Just now I'm ready to move forward and know that if I feel overwhelmed I can always go back to the NRT as smoking is not an option. Breaking Free, I use it about 5 inhalations a day (Not the entire cartridge that is). The doctor and pharmacist said I could use up to 16 cartridges (4mg is delivered which isn't even a cig I was told by both doc and pharmacist). Heck half the time I think I'm supposed to change the cartridge since my husband tried it and said my cartridge was empty (but you get that weird taste still). I've gone through 6 cartridges in the past 8 days. Quite a difference between the 6 I've used up and the 16 PER day I'm alotted to use up. Does this help any? Sorry had to get the prescription out so I could type it correctly. It says 10mg/Cartridge (4mg delivered). So I guess I haven't been getting much after all considering I dont go through even an entire one each day

cheer, Yo may want to check with your pharmacist as well regarding dosages and side effects. You can wean yourself off when you are ready. Make sure you are following all the instructions. Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
