Hi T :) I can sympathise, I'm on day 16 and I could have smashed the house up today, just for a cigarette. The craving was so intense that I had such a rage inside me. The rage is induced because I am stopping myself doing something I enjoyed. After about 2 hours I calmed down and realised how ridiculous I had been. I just keep telling myself I smell better, I feel better and my purse is better ;p Keep it up, get angry when you need to; venting is brilliant. Ah, the self pity! I'm an expert on that....the world's best talker out of not smoking for many reasons......and all of them earth-shatteringly important! There was the fact once that it was a Tuesday. Bad bad day not to smoke! Was proud of myself lighting up that I had realised this. Then there was the day that it was a bit cold outside. And the day I put a sock on inside out and would have to take it off again...lit up and the answer came to me in a flash! Turn the other one inside out before putting it on.....brilliant and I couldn't have done it without smoking! And the day that someone else in the world put a sock on inside out........... And the day that it got light in the morning and I had to get up............ And........... And the best one of all............"I'll just have the one!" because its today! Not yesterday or tomorrow but today. And it won't hurt me and no-one will know.......... And then one day I realised........... Hi, talullahmay. Congratulations on 9 days quit! Getting through hell week is an [u]awesome[/u] accomplishment. :) The anger you're feeling is quite normal. So are the feelings of self pity. In the past the nicotine stimulated the reward centers in your brain. Now that you've quit you are in a "reward deficit" condition. Some people respond with depression, some with anger. You need to reward yourself often during the first month. It actually will help speed the healing process along, sort of like excercising helps rebuild damaged muscles (no, I'm not calling you a muscle-head ;)). Rewards don't have to cost anything, they just have to make you happy. So go out there and reward yourself, talullahmay. You've earned it. Hi Talullahmay, days 10-12 were the absolute worst for me. And it was Christmas, so I pretty much ruined the holidays for everyone around me. Please know that each day you get through is a day that you won't have to go through again. Try finding a comfortable place to be, where you can be calm and peaceful. It might be a place, or a book, or music, or even in bed with the covers over your head. You might need to just stay on here for a while and read posts. I know that you don't want to go through the past 10 days all over again. Please know that this CAN be done -- it's hard, but it is so worth it.
