Hi everyone Im back here again! I have been smoking again for 18 months after quitting for 2 years. THE BIGGEST MISTAKE OF MY LIFE. When I first quit I gained about a stone in weight but felt healthier and very proud of myself. After starting smoking again I TEMPORARILY lost weight (about half a stone) and felt really skinny. Gradually I gained it again and that was whilst smoking. So here I am again a stone heavier than when I first quit and I not looking forward to putting on another stone. That will make me 2 stone heavier. I have hated the fact that I started smoking again and am gonna quit again regardless of the weight gain although I will fight it like mad. The moral of this story is DONT smoke again to lose weight it will come back on you again whilst smoking and then you will have to start all over again with even more problems than the first time. take care everyone, Im glad to be back on here. luv Sue

Suzieq135, Welcome back and congratulations on deciding to quit. Rework the tools of the program and take some time to look back on your past quit attempts. Pull out the strategies that worked well for you and pinpoint triggers and other situations you struggled with and devise a plan to get around them this time. Start looking at your daily routine and identify the following: why do you smoke? when do you smoke? where do you smoke? With those answers, start devising ways in which your routine can be changed to exclude smoking or to have it substituted for something else. Ex: You smoke in the morning while drinking your morning coffee. Your plan: You will now read the newspaper instead while drinking your coffee. Lastly, you'll need a reward system for overcoming cravings and reaching milestones. Keep us posted. Danielle ___________________________ The SSC Support Team

Hi ! Thank you for sharing this story with us Sue. That had to be tough. Lots of exercise is the best we can do when quit and eating healthy. I know I am hoping for the best in that department! Sounds like you are ready to start your new quit - that's awesome.
